XTA Single Player Pack

Post by 1v0ry_k1ng »

Setting up decent botmatches and getting the bots to work can be time consuming and annoying, and plenty of newer players set up botmatches 1v1 on vast maps then have no fun and cant understand why, so i figured it would be a reel gd plan to maek the single player challenge pack!

Image

ALL INCLUSIVE PACK (MAPS AND MOD INCLUDED) 35MB

http://spring.unknown-files.net/file/34 ... sive_pack/

LITE PACK (MAPS AND MOD NOT INCLUDED) 3MB [still includes AI]

http://spring.unknown-files.net/file/34 ... IONS_lite/

Required files (already in the inclusive pack):
XTA
comet catcher redux
IcyRunV2
Foothills-v08
DesertTriad
Battle_for_PlanetXVII-v01
KAI-0.12
RAIv055
NTAI with latest XTA config
AAI

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONZ:

1) DELETE YOUR OLD AIs because these are the latest versions of each AI and if your version is older and you just paste it over the top, some old, uncompatable files may remain. this is mostly a problem with AAI and NTAI

2) Unzip the .rar file

3) copy the contents of the .rar file and paste them into the TA Spring folder (the one containing the spring .exe)

3) To run the missions look for the .bat files in your TA Spring folder;

UNINSTALL:
delete the files listed in 3), the other files are just maps/mods.

CONTENTS:

Lollably Easy:
defeat an easy AI in a 1v1 on a long, low metal map
Submit a replay if completed within one minute

Easy:
Defeat two easy AIs with the assistance of an allied decent AI on a hilly map
Submit a replay if completed within four minutes

medium:
Yourself and an allied decent AI against two Hard AIs on a flat moon
Submit a replay if completed within ten minutes

Hard:
Defeat a hard AI in a 1v1 on a high metal, hilly map
Submit a replay if completed within five minutes

Very Hard:
Defeat two Hard AIs with only the help of an Easy AI on a flat moon
Submit a replay if completed within twelve minutes

Ultra Hard:
Defeat three allied Hard AIs on a flat moon
Submit a replay if completed with twenty minutes

Bring It On:
Defeat three allied Hard AIs with resource boosts on a flat moon
Submit a replay if completed at all!

FFA:
Compete with two other unallied AIs for domination of this Desert
Submit a replay if completed within ten minutes

Outnumbered:
Defeat Two decent AIs on this long, low metal map
Submit a replay if completed within eight minutes

Rules of competition:

1) AIs dont cope well with porcing, so building a HLT adds equivalent of five minutes unto your completion time

2) Losing your commander negates your attempt

I have completed every challenge except Ultra Hard and Bring It On, which I am yet to attempt, if anyone manages this then please do submit replays.

just a warning, AIs do require a decent CPU, especially the 2v2 challenges.

Crash-

Incorrect Global AI dll version:

AI/Bots-Libs/AAI.dll

And yeah, I completely replaced my AI directory with yours.

lol well i havent had any problems yet, played lol easy n medium, i have to admit u done a good job on this dude. despite me having to kill 2x the amount as my ally, i actually had fun with an AI!

I installed the old fashioned way with cut n past, over writing the files where necessary n not the entire folders. Perhaps that might of been the issue with you two?

let me emphasise that bit about the AI again lol;
delete any old, redundant AI files
DELETE YOUR OLD AI FILES FIRST
otherwise they half copy over older versions and horrible things happen.

this is easily fixed by deleting the AI and then extracting the pack again, and your not losing anything as this pack is todays newest version of each AI.
great pack

can you describe the crash and/or post the infolog here so i can show it to people who understand that kind of stuff? if its crashing, maybe a file got moved, try extracting it again over the top?

edit: the people who had problems with AI, that was probably because i gave the wrong install instructions sorry. amended instructions now in place. you need to copy the contents of the .rar file into the Ta spring folder, rather than just extracting it in TA spring because I wuz a noob. I'll fix the files tonight, but in the meantime just follow the amended instructions and it should work. please post any more problems encountered! Im working on a series of proper single player missions (with objectives, scripted sequences and dialog) atm and this is my first attempt at using scripts.

Fixed my crash. You know what's really embarrassing? It wasn't the AI. It was Spring. I hadn't updated it on my laptop yet.
