Seriously... If there was an award for coolest looking mod that took the longest to release this won would definitely win the Gold.. Hell, it would win the platinum

Sorry guys, we've gone through about five different members in as many months, and it's basically down to the core team again (myself, UGO, secure), though we have gained two new members who have stuck with us and are proving to be very helpful (Maelstrom and Guessmyname).

I'm also back at uni, which is slowing things down.

However, bear in mind that we have 67 completely s3o'd units working in-game, which I *think* is the largest of any mod thus far (the next closest being Gundam or 1944). Despite that, we're probably still less then 50% of our final planned release (130 planned units total, but the later ones are the most scripting and model/texture intensive).

However, we have had a discussion and decided that it has been too long since release - and will still be a while till completion, so we are currently thinking of realigning our short-term goals into a smaller, less complete release for balance testing, followed by a large scale final release. This has not been confirmed yet, and if anyone starts asking for testing positions, I will have to feed you to a starved rancor.

You've probably seen our requests for help around the community. If you really want to see a release sooner, here is a four step process to getting SWS out sooner:
1. Buy aGorm a new computer
2. Convince aGorm to start texxing for SWS again
3. Dig up another talented texturer
4. Dig up a talented scripter.

Failing that, you'll just have to bear with us and be patient ;)

But, because we're flattered by all the interest and (semi-)patience, here's a few new screenshots of some other completed units.

(Note that all screenshots shown are working shots and could well be different from what you see in the final game)

Paying to get my compy fixed so that I can try my hand at texturing too would also help

The Star Wars mod has always been the Mod Worth Waiting For, even back in the TA days. So awesome.

Actually 1944 has over 100 S3O'd units (108 by my rough count). But who's counting? :P

How many are just gun swapped infantry? That was the easy part of our stormtroopers, and I'm sure your stormtroopers are the same :P

(and before you return the question, just 8. You can count things like our AT-RT, which is a walker + troop, as a seperate unit though)

for the record I never made such a claim and I have maybe exactly 56 s3os, 19 of which are missiles and projectiles.

Keep up the good work but I am nowhere near as far as you guys.

I did, and the compliment was much appreciated :)

Though, I didn't think it was that good, it was mostly just cheap paneling with pillow emboss. I got the greebles by taking a picture of an oil refinery on flickr and cutting it up and messing about with that in upspring. It was the first time I thought to use the false lights though, which I'm quite pleased with.

I'd posted all those units in here before, I just thought it wasn't really fair if I stuck the same pics everywhere.

It also keeps the really diligent fans on their toes ;)

Good spying, PK! :)
