It is possible to create an Tower Defense mod for Spring ?

Suggestion stolen from desktop TD: Have waves of air units that don't follow the path, just cut quickly from start to finish. Have specific anti-air towers to counter them. Gives you one more thing to think about.

If we place good path point , air units can't cut dirctly to finish point.
Look at example :

A problem , How the units can appears ?
With LUA we can , at a trigger , make appears units ?

and when a player kill a units , we can give it metal ?

and we can count hows units gone to finish point ? and make appears life?

If we can make thats , alls is gone for TD mod :D

This will depend heavily upon the kind of map you create. For example, DN's concept map would be a bad place for aircraft to cut across since your available land for tower placement is highly limited going diagonal from one corner to the other.

And DN, yes we can do all those things.

I think a grid would be fine and help with tower placement.

saktoth, I think mixed is fine. I have several turrets from gundam and your towers would make great boost or magic attack turrets.

What would be the advantage of air units, if they couldn't cut straight across the map? Maybe we have things like Dragons Teeth that we can build in the water, that the air units are not hampered by? Or have curvy sections that the air units just fly over?

Nice try, but it seems to be missing the middle level for the towers.



Smoth: Now that I think about it, it would be easier to work with the grid system thing if the tower build area was about the width of a HLT, so about 2x2 or 3x3. Then tricky Lua code wouldnt be needed to set up the build grid, instead the build grid is set up by Spring itself with the footprints :P

Will it have Hero Units like in the Star-craft defence maps?

Of course you got some super expensive ones that can kill the first 10 rounds in one shot. :D

Also For the kinds of Towers and such to use, you can just say it's inter dimensional, so it mights more sense for units form deffrent mods.

Balance is not TOO much of a problem, as you just need to make the turret's fill the role well.

And we can use the Morgfing in CA if donated I guess for weapon upgrades. (screw trying to spell "Morgfing" correct)

Also if the turrets that require energy to fire so that can be used as a Balancing agent, Gotta invest in some minor Solar's



Also the thought on Inter Dimensional you can have deffrent types of defender's that handle deffrent creeps better. Fantasy and Tech, Fell and Holy? that can of stuff.

Edit, had more Idea's even if they might be meaningless, who knows. :p


To build your turrets you can just simply have a fast Flying comm :D

thinking of the the comm it brings up the tech tree of turrets/towers.

I guess you start with a range of 5 towers to pick form with defferent uses like one of the above posts.

1.Rocket (slow firing Large AoE modest Damage)
-Upgrades to level 5'ish? then becomes specialized
1.1 Rabid fire Smaller AoE?
1.2 Slow mini nuke >:D

2.Laser tower line form TA I guess. as it upgrades it goes tho the progression of how useful the turrets are in the game, and ends as a pop up? just pretty much the stock starter tower.

LLT > Anti spam LLT > HLT > Pop up laser?

3. Torp dropper! have a large AoE on it and bang local AoE weapon.
I guess it upgrades just to keep it par with the creeps.

4. Powerful One shot weapon, Form lightning to a large Arc big ol' missile D:

5.the Uber DPS weapon on one enemy, can be a Rapid fire or a constant beam or some thing.

6.The uber focused Anti air tower.

For all of these when it gets upgraded they got to look visualy deffrent form each other each one look'n more powerful.

Then there is the waves of creep's that come to mind.

I guess every 10 rounds theres a boss.

1-Weasel/jeffery
2.Peewee/ak
3.Storm/Rocko
4.Warrior
5.Pyro
6.Zeus
7.Cans
8.blank...
9.Also blank...
10. Gundam Hero -boss
11.Banshee's or some thing.

That's all I can come up with.

ok, clamyness down feverish sensation down. My head still is wracked with pain but this should be a cinch. I am going to take a shower then make a basic map including some luagaia spawning units adding in effects, towers and weapons. This will take all night but should yield a good base for the beginning ground work.
