I assume you mean "Beta Release", or "Beta Standing".. or you could simply just call it "a beta"

I think he might be searching for the expression «beta stage».
And, in fact, i think it would be more suitable to the context of the sentence.

Just one thing. I don't know how you feel about it, but I thik this strategy guide should give some broad advice on how to use units, but there is no need to reveal every single trick tested.

Let's not spoil new players' pleasure to discover things by themselves.

Well, trying to write a strategy guide that doesn't give any help and let the player discover by himself is pointless. I mean, the whole purpose of any guide is to blankly write black on white the solution for players who can't find by themselves. Just put a visible spoiler warning on top if it bothers you that a strategy guide might actually contain good tips.
