Please no path-type tower defense. A open one like desktop tower defense is more difficulty. There you must build a maze with some strategy and not building some towers and hope you have build the right ones for the coming enemy's type(Air, ground, armor type, fast and so on).

The path type is easier and since we have yet to have someone say they will take up the lua to do this odds are the path one would get done because it is easier. That does not mean that an open one cannot be created later.

Obviously desktop's style of play is more fun, but the game would need to either check paths when you place a tower, or make the enemies fight back.

rcdraco, it is a matter of who is going to be stuck with doing it. I have limited time and frankly do not know enough to say how to do the open space check. So, unless someone else can sitdown and figure it out I am likely to be the one to do this thing and I'll do paths because I am already strapped for time but to see it happen I am going to take the easier route and do a path style map. Frankly it is not like an open version cannot be done later but, I see noone else stepping up to do the map, lua and models.

Heyyy, quantum's learning LUArules, so far he learned teh following :

Maek a cube.

Maek teh cube spin.

Texturing using LUA.

Drawing a triangle using LUA.

Obviously he's still learning to get familiar w/ lua rules.

patience people!

in mean time, tower models + design doc / race suggestions / creep suggestions are welcome :P.

cool that'll work. I am learning lua missions right now(I need to make some for gundam) So I may do a tower defence map inside of gundam just to do it. I need to learn lua so I can do some stuff in gundam and help some of the other project devs get their way around. Hopefully I can get with quantum and the two of us can handle the thing together.

Quantum, I have a subforum specifically for lua script discussion, if you want to talk about that stuff there feel free.
