"Login failed, user not found"

I seem to get this message from time to time when i try to log in to the client. If it appens once it take ages - like hours and hours - before i do not get the message and it lets me in. If i try to reregister it says the username already exists. It seems odd that such a message comes up when i am able to join fine nearly all the time.

Also another problem when i try to log in is that once i click connect with username and password the client just hangs indefinately - no error message given.

I have:
Intel pentium 2.52GHz 533 FSB, 512Mb DDR ram
GForce 4200 Ti
2Mbit DSL connection with ports fowarded through router

Due to the 'username already exists' error, you can find me online as asdfasdf from time to time :)

that error message happens to me when mi client crashes (random reason).
then i relog rigth after the crash, and i get that message.

minutes later it lets me inn.

there is a login refresh error i think.
