Carpet bombing LUA

Post by hunterw »

can someone make one? it would be incredibly helpful to be able to select a big group of bombers and then drag out an attack circle for them to randomly drop bombs in

How about one that changes the randomly chosen target spots every so often? That would be an improvement.

I would like it better if when you draw the circle it dosn't randomly select points, it selects enemy units instead. Unless of course its unexplored or theres more bombers then units, then random selection would be just fine.

Doesn't work. Observe (and disregard gfx on this crappy computer):

I select my 15 bombers, press A, then hold shift and drag out the area attack square over all of those evil kboy labs. All the planes queue the labs up in order, and they all fly and drop their bombs in the same exact place, which is exactly the opposite of carpet bombing.

It's pretty much impossible to micro carpet bombing, as you need to individually select planes and give them each different targets, but you want them to all be flying in at the same exact time.

If area attack randomly selected targets within itself for all the different units we would be in business!

You could always just rightclick drag on an enemy.

Right click dragging on an enemy is the same thing as pressing A and drawing a box- Which is the exact thing hunterw was saying was inadequate.

But hey, who cares if you dont know what you're talking about when you can get a sweet +1 to your postcount

The default keybinding for area attack is ALT+A.
