Keeping distance, retreating, keeping pace

Post by Aurora »

It would be nice to have an option to make a selected group of units keep some distance to each other (perhaps options for 20, 50, and 80 meters?), to prevent them from creating traffic jam or all blowing up at once upon being struck by some powerful bomb.

I'd also like to have an option to make units retreat under chosen conditions. For example, if I select 100 tanks, and set their retreat setting to "30%", the tanks would return to their previous waypoint (or just move away from hostile forces) when their numbers dropped to 30 or under. When you've got many frontlines to manage, a possibility like this would help you save a lot.

Lastly, it'd be useful to make a selected group of units move together. If I have a bunch of light tanks and artillery tanks, and enabled this option while having them selected, the light tanks would slow down so they'd stay relatively close to the artillery tanks. They should of course speed up again when engaging enemy units. I'm quite tired of making fast units guard slower ones, as it takes so long with an army of decent size.

Check CA, they have retreat on those lines implemented through LUA.
