Ok so I played a lot now that I got it, and I have to conclude that it's a very cool game and much fun, but it seriously lack any depth so it wears out quickly. It needs more units and abilities or something. Very repetitive and dull after a while. And it's not like your actually winning/loosing, more like giving/taking punching and then coming back for more, becouse of the way matches are played. It just goes on and then the guys with the highest score "wins". Meh, not the same as a real RTS game victory where the opponent is truely defeated and his base gets destroyed or he gives up. Dosn't feel like there's a lot of strategy or skill involved either. Just grab the choppers drive around the map kill tanks and avoid AA...

Can't see how there could be any really amazing stuff going on, even with serious clans playing.

Yes and infantry seems to suck... just like cnc3, maybe they will fix that tough. Needs ability to make defenses/dig in... see my 1st point. An their too slow and weak so its pointless to play as them.

Infantry are far from useless imo
Hide a bunch of AT squads in a forest and they will absolutely slaughter any incoming armor.
Also directional armor plays a big role, circle around the enemy and theyre dead

Except sitting in a forest all game while the others are fighting and racking up points to finally get 1-2 tanks and then be raped by support or tacticalAIDS isn't very fun or succesful.

Really with the kickass AA inf gives you cant go without them

from my play experience ... it seems choppers and arty control the flow of games with tanks in second and infantry a distant third...

i agree that infantry are useless esp if their only benefits are hiding in buildings and forests both of which stand little chance against arty or tactical aids...

whats worse is that stuff like the Troop transport truck can only carry one squad??? which makes little sense seeing as the squads are like 5-6 guys at max... should be able to at least hold two...

be nice if infantry had access to an M113 for transport as well (maybe a Stryker but meh...) so that u can actually role up on an area without MG-toting infantry shredding your vehicle...

this game is not going to be random match friendly thats for sure, having friends to play with will make the game way more enjoyable..

If youre facing choppers, go regular inf squads; they absolutely slaughter choppers
vs arty, either get choppers or do a radar scan where they are and use a tank buster

I tried playing some today going just infantry all the time, and what I found most sucessful is to go 3AT squads + 3 transport choppers. Then you sneak around to the other side of the map and try to drop right on top of some juicy heavy arty that's usually sitting around. If they have 1 heavy AA or equivalent you can still sometimes pull it off decently, but don't expect your stuff to survive, in either case. If anyone notices you your pretty much screwed, it only works in n00b games. This comes off at 800 + 850 = 1650, and of course just going air and using heavy choppers at 1200 is tons better, but maybe not as stylish. It's interesting that you can usually get a shot off pretty quickly with this method, and then instantly load the troops back into the chopper, much like reaver drops in starcraft.

You can also try this ambushing tank groups, trying to drop in forests or stuff. But a full group of tanks facing off with 3 AT soldiers can go either way it seems. And again, using heavy choppers is just 100times better.

The standard infantry has an anti air attack, and come in at 650. It seems pretty ok and you sure can swat some birds this way. Just as the whole above strategy it really depends on the opponent being stupid. The infantry AA has really pathetic range so the choppers have to be right on top of them, couple this with the really slow speed of infantry and you get the picture. Also if he has a lot of medium choppers and start gunning for your infantry they go down quickly.

I find that standard infantry sucks against everything else, they really suck vs tanks and other infantry your better off just getting a sniper. So I go for a full squad of AT guys and then pick my fights as above. It might be possible tough to use standard squads in choppers to try and lure other air players in and then drop your troops. This won't work well against medium chopper tough and I havn't tested this and it's definitly much easier just going for the heavy AA tanks for hunting chopper swarms.

Infantry needs to be way more stealthy, so they basically can't be seen when in cover unless a scout chopper is used or they start fireing. This is definitely the main advantage of infantry IRL and should be built upon for gameplay. Then maybe they could add in some more IR camera abilities. And the price on transports have to be halved or something, a transport is a must for any kind of offensive use of infantry, and 1squad + transport costing way more then the most expensive heavy choppers and heavy tanks is unacceptable, a transport + squad combo is not near as powerful. Then I think they need a longer fireing range, esp AA missiles, but tank missiles seems a little short ranged too. Combination of SLOOOW, vulnerable, and low range just dosn't work out. And also tanks running over infantry is retarded.
