rage quit/ end game self-d

Post by smoth »

Seriously, am I the only one who gets ticked seeing this? There are times I see a rage quit when the player can turn it around with some effort. There are other times I see someone self-d all his/her forces in the face of defeat.

Now I can understand if there is some remote building that the enemy cannot find, that is fine but at least let the other guy have the satisfaction of killing your shit. The other player works hard to kill you, let that person have the satisfaction!

I am actually ok with a quit versus self-d but the problem is that it is hard enough to get players. Then it is hard to get a game to not DESYNC and past that there is also the time waiting to start. While this thread isn't pointed at anyone I just wanted to vent and see if I wasn't alone.

Mostly I get pissed at the people who ragequit by self-D while the game is still in full swing. This screws over their teammates, and makes them so irritated they're likely to follow suit as well.

At least use the give away (or just quit) function if you're going to be a ragequitting dick!

I could care less in 1v1 mods, but it's really lame to ragequit in allied games and leave your allies hanging. Generally I give anyone I see doing it a hard time. I'm against doing anything official and moderatorish about it though, because there's too much gray area and it's a pretty reasonable off chance that someone just had to leave because they were having a family dinner or something, or their mom came home drunk, or who knows what other horrors IRL can present a humans...

Also, det ragequits because he sucks at T2 economy management.

I quit when I am part of a DeltaSiegeDry game where the speed has dropped to 0.4 and the enemy is teching to Krogoth instead of killing us like the sitting ducks we are. Also, I just leave. I don't self-d. Oh yeah, and my drunken Mom came home and wanted to have family dinner.

The worst ragequit is when the host makes that :(

Its why i prefere to host and let the game finish ... 10 days ago, i have been explosed very quick in a 8v8 game (in 10 min :S)... i was too irritated but i let others play .. i think when you are host u know that maybe u will have to wait the end of the game !!!

I'm sometimes surprised at how quickly people self-d, they don't even wait until their Epic Com is dead!

The only good rage quit is a stacking host dropping his own game due to overwhelming play on the other team.

Otherwise, Self-D is generally not acceptable.

the best is a ragequitting tard when you combom his forward annihilator/t2 factory/his comm/con units that he used every bit of rescource and effort to put up, right outside yourn own base... :P

naw, I'm gonna let it sit there and pick off my buildings 1 by 1.. and probably even my own comm..

sometimes, there is reason to combom your opponent, and sometimes, its just shitty...

but ragequitting!! as long as its not the host, I think its halarious!

If you are not the host, I think there are 2 situations where quitting seens aceptable:

*You have just been completly crushed and will never rebuild ourself before the end of the game.
*You are the only guy left in one piece in our team and enemys are starting the final strike. (DONT SELF-D TOUGH)

I Often quit before that tough. I find it immensily difficult to keep on a game I know I will lose... but im trying to change that. I will not lose any more games! :)

Fighting a lost cause is a great way to learn how to get the most from your massively outnumbered units. I also find it a lot of fun.

I've had games where my allies self-d'ing and freeing up their mex spots has worked out better than if they had kept playing.

Although in the best case scenario they would just let them self be .take'd
