XTA config for NTAI that pwns you 1v1 on comet

Post by 1v0ry_k1ng »

it only plays arm, but heres a decent XTA config for NTAI

http://spring.unknown-files.net/file/30 ... I_PROFILE/

its plays best on large maps, and gets seriously dangerous late gate with gunship swarms, endless t2 kbots and nukes, have fun! feedback welcome as its under construction. if you beat it 1v1 on comet put up a replay so i can make it better against whatever you did

edit: it DOES play any map decently btw

It gave this error but still worked:
Image

I started air and made an airscout because i was wanted to see what if it was moving. When i found the base there was already a lot of stuff.
Once or twice I could have killed the commander easily with air but I think that would have been unfair.
I think when really trying to beat it, its not too hard but for the first game I was just fooling around. Suddendly my mobile fusions were gone and there where black craters in the middle of the map. Hm. stupid wander fusions.
Then I killed its eco by air, but no aircraft survived (I was surprised)
After 20 minutes my fps got down to 8 or something and i self-destructed. Bases where equal I guess but I had more mex outside.

Ill try some smaller map now.

replay with NTAI dont work?
units leave the factory, then stand around.
the commander dguns units that are not there.
or does this happen when you play at 2x speed?

I really start to like this ai. Maybe its not the hardest one (the commander can dgun endless waves of t1 kbots) but i like how spammy it is and how it expands its base. makes for fun games.

AF said he might be making the attack behavior less stupid in the near future, i reckon that would make it pretty tough

knorke, that isnt an error message, thats the custom message i put in. i had loads of problems with team 0 not working so put the fix in the signature lol

also, it does need optimising, it slows down for me also.

1vo0ry, thats tantamount to ignoring your mistakes and only learning from your victories.

If an Arm NTai falls under a swarm of krogoths but you delete the learning file values then the lesson that krogoths are efficient is lost. They're seen as less threatening.

The correct action is to pwn NTai using hordes of the unit you dont want by giving the hordes to NTai then blowing them up with a prefered unit. The unit becomes less desirable while the prefered unit becomes more desirable.

the learning stuff really makes no diffrence atm. i gave mex wind and solar high values so it would mop up at the end of the game, because otherwise it dosnt. read only is the only way of keeping it like that. commanders have a threat value of like 80 but it still chooses to attack them and auto targetting is off.

Perhaps thats because I use ud->power rather than GetEfficiency()ud->name);?

I really like how NTai with this congig plays. Looks like it is the strongest AI installed on my computer.
Is there another map (in addition to comet) where it is very strong against human player?

watched it, it might be my spring, but it looked in that game like NTAI broke and didnt command its units beyond the first two peewees.
NTAI can play pretty decent on any land maps, but generally its better on flats and its better on bigger. foothills is a good one, as is tabula

Watched the reply too. Yes, NTai player broke :( . Human player broke too. He hasn't built Advanced K-Bot lab (and all products from it, of course). He also has Solar collector constantly turning on and off on 20th or 30th minutes for a long time; doesn't resemble the game played at all. Stats are from broken replay too. Winning message and the game time are not broken. Going to try switching to Spring 0.75 and/or not using gamespeed changes (including pauses).

Thank you for map advice. Going to try both tabula and foothills.

I don't know what I do wrong. But I used your config for ntai (with 74b3) and the AI doesn't build a single defender, so killing the commander with (overpowered?) Tornados is pretty easy. I can send you the replays, but they don't show any magic trick I pulled out to beat it.

well thats pretty damn puzzling because every tasklist is packed full of defenders. there is a line of bad script in XTA which might be causing crashes and NTAI is slightly broken atm which might account for it

That bad script line is of XTA v9 right? I am happily using 74b3 with XTA 8.1. Anyway: isn't your topic title a bit gross then?
And: does it cheat via internal handcap settings?

it gives itself 25% of somthing more resources to counter its sucky micro, and on my machine does exactly what its supposed to, also the problem was with the NTAI not the XTA version so thats ok. just encase, ill post the latest version. if that still dosnt work PM me and ill host a game and you can join to make sure :-)
