Do you use other camera angles?
I'm curious as to whether anyone actually uses the other camera angles, other than the top down TA perspective. Also, does anyone have pointers on how to use them if they do.
I often find them clumsy and slow to use in comparison to Top down view, but I recognize that having a mastery over other modes could be beneficial for judging terrain or noticing features to take advantage of in battle. Also, maps look far better from other angles, whereas in the top down TA mode it's difficult to tell that they are even 3D.

Rotatable Overhead. It makes things ALOT easier when judging terrain, height and distances. You can view your base in close up while keeping an eye on the battlefield in the distance (or vice-versa). Once you get used to it, panning the camera around in 3D becomes as easy as using the TA view. The only problem is, as stated, how the camera centers not on what its looking at but at the cameras position. Fix plz!
I think its kinda a given that you will move the camera around when you are playing gundam.
Beyond that, I find a quick ctrl+mouswheel can really help when placing static artillery on irregular hills, if for nothing more than to check you aren't blocking it's fire arc. In F1 view it isn't always apparent which area is higher than the other imo.

I actually never move it in Gundam unless I'm pulling shots from a replay.pintle wrote:I think its kinda a given that you will move the camera around when you are playing gundam.

Not that I actually play that much, but when I do, I pretty much stick with
the overhead view. As with some previous commenters, I too have to
mess with the camera tilt to view behind sharp slopes. As a better solution,
I've added /viewtaflip [0|1]. It simply flips the camera around 180 degrees.
P.S. I may mod it to allow any of the 4 directions (N/S/E/W). Might also be
nice to allow spinning the minimap to your preferred viewing direction.
