one day, when I Played kernel panic, I got this idea, a retro spirit mod with simple 8-bit old times style graphics n effects and SUONDS. well.. kernel has some of it, but its in different world and gamelpay.

so its all elements of war (L, S, A) what I seek, simple block 3D like in 4D boxing(that game still kickass) optional custom maps. On foot infantry and automobile land units with different roles. Not too long gameplay. Rock, paper, scissors system.(more will come later)

this suonds a clone for mod but its all abaut !!RETRO SPIRIT!!

I can start modding (protos for units and leading the project) if I got some support, ideas and crew to make it
I like RTS spring coz it├óÔé¼Ôäós a flexible engine
this topic is a open for Eny ideas but think before yo post em (like nukes for all units and 1 giga of HP to comm)

I'm interested, mainly because I like the style and the ideas. However, present us with a more coherent design document, if you will. Don't let the nays discourage you if you are committed to the project.

Seriously, when I get version 8 of BloX out, I can help with anything except animation. I recommend to use s3o, and make sure to make a solid design document. What I do is draw out my models and basic info on a sheet of paper, and usually draw out combat between units, so I know what I want the mod to look like. All I gotta say is go ahead, but make sure you get information from the players. Kernel Panic died because they added stuff that frankly the players didn't need or want.

If you need anything early, just find me in the lobby RC[BloX], or send me a private message, I'm new to modding, but I am on a lot, and know how to do anything with modding, besides animation, and heavy scripting. 8)

Uh, why not help improve Kernel Panic, instead of starting a copycat?

Wait, you said different world and gameplay, then went on describing KP point by point? o_O

Come to think of it, after seeing how you type, I'm not sure I'll still want you to meddle with KP. :P


Well, anyway, I'm convinced spring suffer for mods overpopulation already, and that working together on one very good mod is better than having two half mods. So why don't you just make an additionnal race for KP instead of pretending to do an all new mod?

So you'll be the idea guys and project leader, and are looking for free slaves to do the actual work? Damn, sorry it rarely works like that.

I think If Im reading this right Zwzsg that he wants a retro (KP) like mod that is not abstract, which KP is, he would like the units to resemble actual real life objects but be done low poly in a tasteful manner.. as to wether this should be done or not... well thats for the dude in charge to decide..

Ah retro but not abstract. Ok I get it now.

Well then good luck. The wiki is a good place to look when you're wondering how to start your modding. Then ask here when you have question. And don't forget, people are more willing to help if you have models, screenshots, non working code, alpha, whatever, proving that you're really trying.
