What happened to the # of active games..

Post by Muzic »

Last summer when I started playing Spring there may have been alot of 'red' games, but they were all FULL to the brim and more. It was almost impossible to not be able to get into an active game becuase there were just so many. Now here I am in June when I want to get started and I see like 5 full games, a few dozen games started with 1 person, and a bunch of autohosts......Is it just my time zone?

I also noticed that there are smaller and less games to join lately...

Like it was said before, its exam season. I'm guessing at least 90% of the active community are students at varying levels.

Thats true.

In USA/Europe exams have a so well defined date? Were in I would say we have exams at least 25% of the school days. (but 1 per day)

XTA_authost_1 has star rank, and hasn't been around that long. It gets a lot of use, the other hosts i barely see and can't vouch for

XTA is good but very unforgiving for noobs. Especially people used to BA/AA.

BA is deathly dull.

Everybody who didn't like BA/AA left the community a year and a half ago. As did anybody who doesn't like two hour porc fests on maps with too many players and choke points.

Not so.

We still have other games, and other players.

But the other games are have too few players. Spring is probaly pretty boring for people who dont like TA based mods.

Sadly enough, yes.

And, if we think a little, people who dont like TA have good chances of not liking the other mods since they are pretty similar (Considering how infinitly diferent they could be).

Well the people who were interested in TA wanted to play OTA and Uberhack. Because of various issues like friendly fire not being implimented for a couple of years we never had good mods of those two games. I'm not sure what the status is now but whoever likes those is long gone.

All most TA multiplay users wanted was OTA with zoom and a few other UI improvements.

There's TA3D under development at the moment and that seems to cater more for the purist TA player who wants the balance the way it's always been. Modders always moan that OTA is imbalanced but the fact is it's got 1000 times more play online than any other TA balance so people are used to it.
