LAN game between Linux and Windows

Post by storky »

we have a computer that runs linux and a computer that runs windows, on both spring runs fine but i get confused by TASServer, the instructions seem very vaugue, we have a functional LAN that does not require a password or username, so im just asking what steps i have to go through to get this workin, i have TASServer on both computers and i dont like how it just runs from the command line but it seems to be the only thing that really works well with linux, if anyone can offer a good alternative that would still be compatible with playing with the windows machine that would be great, in short i dont care how, i just want to play spring between these two computers

run tasserver on one PC in lan mode.

redirect all the lobbies to connect to that computer

connect and host game on one of the computers

all join then play.

You might want to think about using tasclient in wine untill someone can get a new unitsync working for the new java binding so I can do a beta 1 release with fixed script generation.
