@AF
Harsh AF. You make posts like this
http://spring.clan-sy.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=10237
and then troll someone seeking help with your own lobby and spring in general. I'm thinking of a word right now, it starts with a H.

@storky

The .debs come with two AIs that allow for simple single player; KAI and AAI. Have you installed any maps or mods yet as detailed by this guide, which I assumed you have followed to this point?

http://spring.clan-sy.com/wiki/SetupGuide

Try installing this mod and map that are compatible with the above AIs:

Map:
http://spring.unknown-files.net/file/2107/Mars/
Leave it in its sdz/7 format and place in ~/.spring/maps

Mod:
http://spring.unknown-files.net/file/29 ... ation_5.3/
Leave it in its sdz/7 format and place in ~/.spring/mods

Side note: Also, make sure you have have the OTA content for that particular mod, I don't think those default AIs work with the most recent versions of the non-TA mods. I must mention that to use this content "legally" you need to own a copy of Total Annihilation, although nobody would really care if you didn't.

Code: Select all

wget http://ipxserver.dyndns.org/games/spring/mods/xta/base-ota-content.zip
unzip -d ~/.spring/base base-ota-content.zip
Then launch spring either by going to the applications menu>games>spring or by a simple terminal command "spring", without quotation marks. Then you with be greeted by a menu; pick the GlobalAI Test (AAI)/(KAI); pick mars; then pick the mod.

Also, AF.... >.>.... should be releasing a working version of AFlobby to allow multilayer with with other Linux players and the established windows community very soon.

Just to let you guys know, I've started working on a Python/GTK-based single-player frontend. I should have some screenshots within a day or 2. Features will include, but not be limited to, win/loss tracking, favorate map tracking, automatic difficulty adjustment, and a GUI Settings adjustment.

Does anyone have any suggestions/reccomendations for this?

So, yet another 'Lobby'... What do we have already? TASClient, Omni, UnityLobby, the UnityLobby rewrite (never released), AFLobby, some lobby in C# (can't recall the name), Spring Lobby, Lobby++ and probably a few other old projects which have gone to oblivion a long time ago. Oh, and almost forgot LoneWolf's new Python-based (but not UnityLobby-based) lobby (not announced publicly yet, AFAIK).

NIH, I say.

@Tronic

Its not a lobby, its a single player/campaign client with a slew of other features.
