Cheap as hell. This thing is a monstrosity. It's got all of 20 inches of viewing space. You have to see it to believe it really. The thing is the size of a small refrigerator.

Yep, image processing is the goal.ralphie wrote:I have my old G520 crt sitting next to a newish 22" widesceen lcd... the 22" absolutely blows it out of the water.
Although I guess it's hard to beat a CRT for resolution, which appears to be your motive.
Picture on CRTs is better than anything else as well, same is the case for HD tube tv's.
Picture on them will always look better than dlp, plasma, or lcd.
It's just the nature of the beast and they way that the image is processed.
Also, for some reason, I can see the refresh rate on all LCD screens.
Gives me a damn headache.
They can have my CRT when they pry it from my cold, rotting, putrid corpse.

Check this shit out... Oddly enough, only a 2 fps drop from using 1280x1024...

=s LCDs dont turn on and off like a strobe light, like CRTs do, thats why you can see the image on plasma and LCD screens with cameras and video, whereas you get the big black bands on CRT screens. As long as there's charge an LCD pixel remains the same colour untill updated, whereas a CRT monitor is black untill its illuminated for a split second. I'd expect your brain expects this when it looks at an LCD and gets puzzled, like the guys who see through upside down glasses and then their brain swap the image around so when they take them off everythings upside down again..Also, for some reason, I can see the refresh rate on all LCD screens.
