All water base map no land!, with the majority of the the water being below -200 height, so it looks really deep, and maybe some reefs in the middle of the map for obstacles, but not too much, make sure (metal areas that are large, but so is the metal extractors radius is aswell) metal are placed in strategic locations and are well balanced. thank you, if noone replys, please reply :x . make the map 20x20 to 24x24.
this filesize should be small and not cause alot of lag either and be some of the funnest sea battles will occure. (repeating textures should really easy)

You could do that yourself with photoshop/paint shop pro and many others in less than 1 hour.

I also think there should be NO metal deposits, and you collect resourses from floting wreakages and rocks. You would have a decaying exsistence, recycling everything and desperatly trying to keep your metal makers operating as war consumes you!

Just make sure the enemy decays faster...

lol, what is zoombie talking about?
btw, the metalmap is accepted only when its in raw format...
is this usual?
the files are the same in pixel size ... what can be considered an "image file" ...

also, got a... feature filled map.. but PS said there was nothing in the green channel.. only in the red channel...
no fill is 255 value? :D

Oh i will gladdly explain!

See i was thinking it would be cool that a map would have NO metal, so youd be foreced to scavenge metal from rocks, wreaks and metal converters. This would be perfect for a all water map (think Waterworld).

PS: Water world rocks! I dont care that it was the biggest flop of all time! It was still cool!!

im inn for testing :)
go ahead!

i dont remember a map like this.. but remember maps wit lots of features.
i actually do a lot of reclaim in games when lacking metal.. its so cool enemy lets you lots of metal laying by your base... :D
this is tied to the new feature support in maps.

and... maybe a map with very small ammounts of metal (because of dguned stuff dont let metal..) ah! and aslo bw.. you can do metal makers.. wich is usual, they are available for land and sea...

now im seen it as a game slowing map only... :/

maybe that mod/mutator someone mentioned, in wich you have small ammounts of units in the beguinning and nothing more.. is a better option.
sounded very cool to me.

Would not be to hard to do this... only... reffs would look aquaward, can it not maybe have a few sand banks...
Once the map format is redone, adding a decent looking reef would be much easyer...

Mongus, it isn't a mutator, you just use it using the unitlimit slide in the multiplayer battleroom in OTA.

Set unit limit to 20

it's as easy as that.

Last time I compiled a map, all source images including the metal map were .bmp and it worked fine.
