Trademark, you can keep making speed metal variants, forb does not bother you about the redundant nature of such a map. If you have a problem with his maps, feel free to not download them and stop giving him grief. He does not bother you about your maps.... so please stop bothering him about his.
Go bitch in my thread, I made a map, it is HUGE in filesize go complain all you want. Although, do not expect me to care that you are complaining over my filesize any more then you care about my complaints over your speed metal maps.
So to reiterate. go pick on my map.. leave forb alone please.
map compression (split from CrossingGlade, Deserted/... etc)

Trademark you are provoking him.
Here is the short and simple:
Higher compression yeilds smaller filesize by using more tiles. Similar to an over compressed video.
You point out black pixels... not really helpfull in the perspective of detail but then again... they are LESS obvious then say tiles.
Forb is saying, you can release a completely uncompressed map and when 7ziped it will be near the filesize you would have if you had compressed it in the first place.
You do not understand compression, this was already clear in the texture reconstruction thread.
Forb's points are valid, you ask, well if it is not compressed what do people lose for that? Simple some system memory. Big deal.
You can accept lots of tiles on a map, I ask would you watch a poorly compressed video or prefer dvd quality? I prefer dvd quality and forb is the same.

So, you really are incorrect on this yet continue to pursue? Why? To provoke forb who is an easier target then myself? We have already been around and around with this. Frankly you just need to stop. You are incorrect on this. Forb is correct. So stop.
Forb cares too much and will try and reach you. That is where his frustration comes from. I will give you that he over reacted but is pursing the matter further going to make things better? no.

There comes a point where you are just pushing people too much. Forb is tired of hearing you and others make the same incorrect points over and over again. Whether or not your intent was well meaning you pushed too far and it is over. So stop, just stop. If you keep this up things will only escalate.proverb I read once wrote:Stroke even the face of a Buddha three times, and his anger will be roused.
