Problems with trolls in the lobby/forums

You dont need to make jokes, so if you do and offend someone, its your fault. That means that if you know someone gets offended easly (like fang)(he gets offended so easly he probaly got offended with that comment)(and this one too) you should avoid joking with that person.smoth wrote: Mannored, how were my jokes at the time flames? As far as I can see... both sides joke around all the time, both sides take eachother way to seriously, and therefore, there is this massive dramatic thing going on, over a slightly different sense of humor.
There legitimately is some trolling going on, certain users especially have targeted other specific users. We're keeping an eye on it as much as possible, but it doesn't help that people don't promptly report instances that they feel they are being attacked, alot of chalking up another mark in the old grudge book is going on, and it doesn't make things any easier for moderation to do it's job.
Overall, everyone just lighten up a little please... and try to show some respect, even when it hasn't been earned yet. Sometimes you learn something by listening before talking.

Mannored, I cannot worry about offending every little sensitivity, now as far as my jokes, no they were not even remotely offensive. However, you need to consider that MEARLY having a sense of humor seems to bother people who will complain about it. However, I am not sure you are following what happened and I do not care to elborate for you. Simply put, I said nothing offensive.
People have certain grudges and they want to fly off the handle at an excuse that is fine and good. Hell people were accusing me of derailing caydrs post on page 4 when he did so on page 2. You need to consider the hypocrisies of it all.
Furthermore some poeple have taken it upon themselves to find my pink text offensive. However, when/if I stop using the pink text they WILL whine about my mrs piggy. I like them both, so I use them. On TAU Storm starts all posts with a green letter. I see no reason why my pink text is either pretentious or offensive, esp when you consider how easy it is to ignore... I could post in NEON PINK but I didn't.

This thread is a pretty good example of what I'm talking about. Sure, it's a pretty controversial subject (although it really shouldn't be) but people like Fang, Wasp, Forboding Angel and LathanStanley just posted worthless crap all over it because they disliked it. I know some of Wasp's spam was deleted, which was good. Posts like these are just worthless:

actually tombom, that thread was started as an angry barb(trolling tbh) at me after I insisted that all projects that are not constructed from the stolen ta content be considered games by their own rights. After a lengthy discussion/argument with me boirunner posted that thread.
Boirunner and several other people mistakenly think I am trying to shove gundam down their throats. When I tell people FREQUENTLY not to advertise it. Consider if you actually believed I was upset that people do not play gundam frequently and then reread that post as hate directed towards me. It was that thread that originally prompted me to correctly believe that boirunner had a vendetta against me. WELL BEFORE THE PINK.
However, people largely ignore that little point.
Seriously, that thread was an obvious and rude thing to do.

It was pretty petty and transparent tom, his post was directed at me. Many of those points are ones I was arguing to him.
*I understand you did not include me and I appreciate it. I am just saying consider that boirunner bringing me out as a point of attack and my project made it pretty obvious what he really was after. He even directly called me vermin... which only I responded to. Funny how people let that bit slip!

A golden rule of examples is that you dont use people in examples
e.g.
Say if I called smoth a lanky b*stard
Say if I called someone a lanky b*stard
The first one is bad because I could well have caused smoth great offense, and I may ahve offended other people too. Its as good as saying outright "smoth is a lanky b*stard", even though I may not have said that, people will see that reference as implying it.
An example is Mannored mentioning fang above. He could have very easily reworded it to not mention fang and made his post much more agreeable and respectable. It changed the entire tone of his post, injecting a large jolt of immaturity. Wether mannored is indeed immature is irrelevant, because in the end mannored isnt sitting next to us whispering in our ears reading inbetween the lines for us.
And he's not the only culprit of this error, this should be common courtesy, basic respect, it isnt somethign confined to the net, and its a mistake made commonly on these forums. Granted this post makes that mistake too, but only as an example. I apologise to smoth in advance for any offense using him as an example may cause, as to my knowledge he's far from a 'lank b*stard'.

everyone in this thread needs to grow up, take the pretty panties they are wearing OFF, and put on some big boy shorts... People are ignorant, all of them, all of us, even yourself and me.
get over it. yell and scream at will, but understand its a damnned messageboard, thats all it is, and thats all it will EVER be.
Its not going to make you rich, not going to tell your grandparents you are a failure, not going to make you popular, or commit suicide. Hell as far as I'm concerned, in all our own little worlds, the only people in them who know of this board, hell, even read it, is ourselves.

My best advice is to read it, and go: "what the fuck??" and talk some smack back, and then WALK AWAY!... getting heated about it, if its truely going to piss you off, is just retarted. I've made that mistake in the past, and its just not worth it. Just argue your point, and leave.

I didn't read anything on the first 6 pages because I don't respect any of you or your opinions but I just want to say that the "elite alternative mod crew" needs to stop being childish and trolling shit up.. Just because you made a mod doesn't mean you are entitled to jack shit, especially if no one plays it.
