System.Net.Sockets.SocketException

Post by Bagoon »

It says:
"No connection could be made becuase the target machine actively refused it at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.Coneect(EndPoint. remoteEP)
at SpringClient.ConnectionManager.Connect(String IP, Int32 port)
at SpringClient.ClientMain.menuFileConnect_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)

The game was working fine until all of a suden it starts saying this when i try and hit connect on the Spring Lobby and try to sign in.

I have tryed making my firewall not block the ports, but I hadn't needed to do that in the past and it still doesn't work.

It seems server is down.
Same message here, wich means the server is actively refusing connections to it.

e: Not usual. Happens time to time anyhow. maybe maintenance.

Be sure to check this if you have time.

Usually several weeks, if not years. It's a pretty horrible process, I usually go outside or on a pilgrimage to Mecca.

man... someone should compile and run a back-up server... just kidding...

What IRC channel is everyone hanging out at while the server is down?

Game's can still be run, circumventing the lobby, you just have to edit your scripts, and know the connection details and script format everyone else is using.

step 1:
find a devout muslim
step 2:
wait for them to start praying
step 3:
walk the direction they are praying in
step 4:
repeat step 1 when you get lost

we tried to get games going, but they kept getting out of sync. Spring really needs better netcode for games involving more than 3 players.

They weren't LAN games. They were run over the Internet but without the lobby, but if we did it correctly we replicated exactly what the lobby does in order to start our games.
