lowering ur total particle count in the settings is the only way but that affects particle levels on a global scale ie ull have missing Nano spray, smoke or other explosion effects...

No, nanospray isn't affected because nanospray is synced.

For such a hugeomongous explosion, I'm surprised how little lag it causes. :lol:

Ironically the way it looks all big and flash and then it suddenly switches to big red fireball with no flash lighting sfx makes the whole thing look shallow...

I like this explosion because it seems to be realistic ...

Yesterday we were 10 ppl in my battle (real mars), 1 nuke at middle has make a little lag ...

but when i have seen my plane go under the cloud ... i have been amazing ... its really really fine ... ^^

next time i kill laggers before launching :D

Fun Fact about nuclear mushroom clouds!
They're not actually white - this is a myth caused by black-and-white photography and Hollywood movies. Eyewitness accounts of the Trinity test record that the mushroom cloud was originally red, which became purple, then green, then white.

So... What's the chance that we're going to see psychadelic mushroom clouds in Spring?

It's not an "explosion effect", it's real life, dammit.

But if the colours of the video are accurate (and I can't imagine why they wouldn't be - they're recording the explosion for a reason, and therefore they would want to make sure that the recording is entirely true-to-life) then you can see the colour change right at the start of the video during the first few seconds.

Are you sure, I thought that was just the effect of so much (light) radiation on the camera.

That would appear to be the case.

There was indeed no white smoke, rather large dust clouds shaped by airflow.

Spring nuke explosions are too wide, focus too much on being mushrooms, and tend to ignore the ground based part of the explosion so much so quantums latest effect hasnt got a ground based part.

Comparing the AA blast to the real Blast I would say The AA one is pretty unrealistic. First there is a big blast that destroys everthing and then the mushroom cloud aparears. In the real blast the cloud comes at the same time than the shockwave.

Also, I noticed that there are some sizable wrecks after the explosion. A nuclear bomb should tear anything down to rubble, right? :)

1) ask at a local pub or shop for an unskilled job
2) work 60 hours, thats a week and a half, on minimal wage
3) quit the job
4) buy a decent pc

AA 5.0 seems to have succesfully integrated the explosion sphere into their explosion. I've been trying to do that for ages. I don't the class names for the sphere and spikes...

Yo GMN.. I use both in my nuke..

(Which lasts a little less longer than this one, but I can have 12 running at one time with 16 fps... hahaha)

Here ya go,

[spikes]
{
class=CExploSpikeProjectile;
[properties]
{
dir=blah, blah, blah;
width=blah;
length=blah;
alpha=blah;
alphadecay=blah;
color=blah, blah, blah;
}
ground=blah;
count=blah;
}

[sphere]
{
class=CSpherePartSpawner;
[properties]
{
ttl=40;
alpha=1;
expansionSpeed=100;
color=1,1,1;
}
ground=1;
air=1;
count=1;
}

Kinda confusing, huh?...
