Irony? I think not.Boirunner wrote: really. i hate complaining.
stfu, gtfo.

I think most modders naturally make the mod they want to play themselves, rather then what other people want. And what Fang said.Boirunner wrote:by that line of thinking, nothing is worth doing anyway. nobody will ever start playing different mods and nothing will ever change. if that were true, why do anything at all? why make the effort to create something if you believe nobody will ever enjoy it?

Wee! Looks like a civil war spanning the entire Spring forum has just awoken! I shall bring more fuel next time. Meanwhile, pick your side and remember, there shan't be no mercy!
Oh, and I find very relevant to the issue at hand the author's comments on that amateur short movie:

The movie I submitted here over a year ago that contained a Halo-esque character was wildy more popular than the movie I had submitted more recently despite it being technically better.
It hit me with some minor distaste that the world as it is doesn't really want new stuff. They want to see new versions of the stuff they already know.

If there is one thing Marvel comics has taught us, it is that Civil Wars are neither civil or particularly well-written.zwzsg wrote:Wee! And another one enters the Circle of Pain, Marytrium and Torture - having created a great Mod and having no Players here.
Diagnostic Stage One:
Denial of Anger
Stage Two:
Transfer of Anger to a better Grabable Target
Stage Three:
Battle against other Moders
Stage Four:
Leavings & Returns, Lasting Hateoutburst
Stage Five:
Resignation
- but nobody can leave his Mod behind - if to much heartblood went into the Mood.
Stage Six:
...
Sorry, this has all bin said before in various Variations... The Problems is not with the Modmakers, thats for shure. They have fired the Funshotgun - there is enough stuff- into every direction to hit everyone who is willing to try...
But it would be still intersting to see - if those TA-Seekers would play Gundam or EE, if they had only the ugly old TA-Models as Disguise. That way we could determinate if it is graphics or Gameplay which scares the Speedos off

I also find it anyoing how some people aparear to hate people who prefer to stick to the maps/mods they like. Its not that you shoudnt try to get people to play the map/mod you made/like, just that you shouldt do that to the point of anyoing people and neither flame other maps/mods.
And Boirunner is 99% right! :)
