Kernel Panic

Yes, I have a tendancy to forget new Spring features.... oops! Indeed, it would be inconceivably faster to simply use that new "UnitRestricted" FBI tag.
Anyway, Boirunner, do you have the source image used for the creation of Marble Madness? The texture image more precisely. So I can make a map using the same style, without wasting 2hrs trying to find the precise width and offset and shade of yellow of your lines.
Also, Pxtl n├âÔÇÜ├é┬░3 was already covered, hidden in the massive text of my last post.

Alas, no I dont. I can tell you this, though. The texture map is made of tiles of 32x32 pixels, where the edge is made of the standard yellow color in mspaint (yes i made the map in mspaint). that is, from side to side, you have 1 yellow pixel, 30 black pixels, and one yellow pixel again. This makes all the yellow lines - except the ones at the edge of the map - 2 pixels wide.zwzsg wrote:Anyway, Boirunner, do you have the source image used for the creation of Marble Madness? T
i hope that helps.
edit: numbers fixed, thanks zwzsg.

does anyone know why KP doesn't appear on the stats page? i think it would be nice to know how many people play it.
It only shows the 5 most popular mods from the past day and it only counts if you rehost between games.Boirunner wrote:does anyone know why KP doesn't appear on the stats page? i think it would be nice to know how many people play it.
that makes sense, thanks. i know some days were i alone was in more kp games than the two lower-ranked mods on that pie together, but of course i didn't rehost after every game.tombom wrote:It only shows the 5 most popular mods from the past day and it only counts if you rehost between games.Boirunner wrote:does anyone know why KP doesn't appear on the stats page? i think it would be nice to know how many people play it.
I disagree - if you want the loss of the Kernel to end your game, play with "Game Ends". Otherwise, re-establishing the Kernel makes sense.zwzsg wrote:Once you have lost your kernel, the game is over already: Unless your enemy is of the feline kind, there's no chance he'll leave you alone long enough for you to rebuild it.
I agree with your KDR's idea - you can only resurrect a Kernel if you've lost yours. If you don't like the rule, play with Game Ends.
I would make the Kernel reclaimable (though it takes time) so that a victorious player can use an Assembler to "salt the earth" after his victory.

oops, sorry about that. editing the above post to hinder confusion.zwzsg wrote:Fixed! The texture map is made of tiles of 32x32 pixels, where the edges is made of the standard yellow color. I think that's too much positive-feedback. It would mean that teamgames would be all about claiming kernel-spots.KDR_11k wrote:Hm, we could even allow resurrecting Kernels even when you still have your own, that would be for games with many players where your reward for destroying a player and securing the kernel is a second kernel.

What's the copyright on Kernel Panic screenshots? I need to know for this image.
BTW, a completely random idea I had:
Allow Assemblers to construct a Debug-type superweapon. Takes a long time to build, but explodes like a really big nuke that kills Kernels in one hit. We could even give it a cool name, like Reformat or Hard Disk Failure.
Probably completely inappropriate for KP's gameplay, but hey.

Would be pointless, if it takes long to deploy your assembler will die before it's done if it's near the enemy and obviously there's no point in building it anywhere else.KingRaptor wrote:Allow Assemblers to construct a Debug-type superweapon. As for the screenshots, isn't KP public domain anyway?
