So have you seen the early technology demos from this game? I mean ASTONISHING, simply and totally breathtaking!
I think the community members here can apprechiate what they have done, or especially the modders.
I just cannot verbally express how excited i am about this game! I havent bought a computer game since hl because quite honestly, i havent thought they have been worth the money. But this crysis will be a title i will go and buy the first day it hits the shelf in the shop! If all games were made this good, piracy would die away as i think out there are many ppl just like me; willing to show their appreciation of a grat work done by spending hard earnt money in buying a game IF it is made good enough.
As i said, i cannot verbally express how excited i am, so here is some videos for you to watch :)

And whats the best thing about it? These pre-alpha technology demos are run with single geforce 8800 series GFX card, probably 8800gtx. So it seems that it is even well optimized.

I considered buying a new rig so I could play this awhile back, I decided not too, it looks cool, that nuke explosion is amazing in the trailer, but I know I'll play it for 5 minutes, get bored and go play spring, I dont need an $700 8800 for that ^^
Ever since I started playing spring I've lost intrest in pretty much every other genre or game I own lol.
I will buy fallout 3 when it comes out though :)

I think though that Crysis is putting more effort than most games into making graphics and gameplay go together. I know that most of the trees are destructible (they fall if exploded) and that buildings can be shattered by explosions. Also, plants etc. Deform to people/bullets. Don't see how plants could do much more for gameplay (except start eating people)
. The main problem I see with Crysis is that your computer might have to be running SLI 8800's with two Intel Quad Core processors and 4gigs of ram...

You didnt read my first post?
anyway, the video demos found on the net are run with gf 8800gtx + c2d x6800 and they only lag occasionally when loading on the fly. They promise a setup like that will run the game at 1920*1200 @ full gfx fidelity when the optimization is done (aka. the game will hit gold)... Thats pretty good.
And if you looked at the sandbox2 video you might see that gfx is not the only thing they have focused on. Imagine how much more content they will be able to create when the actual process of making the content is made as simple as shown in the video? The are even cooperating with two mod teams so there will be two mods out when crysis ships.
Actually what i am saying is not that crysis will be teh OMG! game, but i am saying that the game development environment they have created with sandbox2 and cryengine2 is something astonishing.
