Yes. It's very confusing. But then again, I suck at modelling.

Haven't taken a look at it yet but I tried another free modeler called OpenFX yesterday. It's highly annoying to model with it IMO but it can do a lot.

It is very sad, that the program with the best handling has the worst count of features
