SpeedMetal Description/Screenshots

Post by iamacup »

Ok

SpeedMetal has, for a long time had
No file info, File was added in a batch process. awaiting admin update.
This thread of for new map descriptions (and screenshots if you want)

any containing this map is crap will not be considered

A balanced view (whatever you take that to mean) is required.

considering it is one of the most downloaded maps at UF (2nd only to Small Supreme Battlefield) i think it requires some sort of info.

a good map for new players because there's no economy to worry about, no expansion to worry about, no naval units, and only one path to and from the enemy base.

will that work?

In all honesty hunter, if someone would remove the speed boosting typemap I would say that..

However, the problem with speed metal is that it REALLY messes up a mod's designed economy along with the speed boost.

Speedmetal is a good map for teaching someone the absolute fundamentals like guarding labs and queuing up orders

The creation of Speedmetal has splattered a 50 mile wide zone of fail over the surface of Spring, spawning horrible monstrosities of Gator spam and brawler swarms. A hardy individual can enter the Speedmetal Zone, but only one armed to the teeth and very experienced Springer can manage the trek to the center of the Speedmetal Zone. But they return with artifacts of incredible wealth. Impossibly huge krog swarms. Balance Messer uppers. However, each of these artifacts contain some of the Speedmetal radiation that weakens all it touches. Beware! For many there is no escape from the Speedmetal Zone. I only escaped because I never entered it in the first place.

Wow, I have been playing too much S.T.A.L.K.E.R, haven't I?

Do not play this with any of the following mods or the mod author will kill you:

1944, AA, BA, CvC, E&E, FF, Gundam, Star Wars

The following mods are unsuitable for play on this map:

Dozerz, Kernel Panic, N00berhack, Nanoblobz

Have fun!

Any suggestions for more mods to add?

I might not kill them... more likely that I would find a way to go back in time and erase their grandparents... whoops did I say that out loud..

/me injects Kdr's neck with a syringe... don't worry, it'll be fine in the morning...

SpeedMetal is a map where every metal extractor gives you 23 metal and wind gives 25 energy. It's designed for rapid economy expansion, so in TA-based mods it's easy to get the biggest units within 10 minutes. It also makes everything move 2x faster. It isn't really a well balanced map and some mods don't play well at all with it (such as Kernel Panic) but if you're a man who likes his games with lots of SPEEEDDDD I guess you might like it.

Already added hope this helps
