3do builder.. 2.0 , dont get anything higher its not stable on later versions of Windows.. 3do builder 2.0 works pretty well though it has its quirks, it is the program for editing 3dos, you can try it in Upspring whatever the latest version is, but Im not sure how well it works in Upspring..

Try 3do builder 2.1 though. If it doesn't work (it appears to crash quite often) do what fang said. Both versions should be on fileuniverse.com

Get upswing from: http://user.supradigital.org/jcnossen/U ... r-1.53.exe

It's not really straight forward, but make sure you enable the ota textures on the installation. This will allow you to paint the model. You select the last option on the toolbar on the left, enable polygon selection, in order to define the individual textures. You have to click over to the 3do option under the texture mapping tab on the right to see the textures on your model. Use the "convert to s3o texturing" to swap it over to the s3o format. It will ask you to define the mask size and in most cases you can get by with 256x256 for OTA model conversion. Under current rendering method select texture map 1, since the conversion doesn't create an alpha mask for the model (yet) and you'll get a washed out model using any other option here.

Each time you make a change to the model then go back to the top and click on the 3do option under the texture mapping tab on the right to see the textures on your model. Click the "convert to s3o texturing" and you'll see your changes to the model.

You need to reboot after several refreshes, depending on the size of the videocard memory in your system. The program doesn't flush the textures on each refresh and it will crash the videocard. At least it does it to my ATi card.
