Or play it regularly or whatever.

If no, Why. I'd like to know because I feel I'm the only one here who likes it D:

I haven't partly because Im skint, partly because the PC I currently have acess to is powered by a mighty Riva TNT and partly because I played it on another PC and it was... well, average, for all the hype about strategy and tactics and the zoom thing it basically boils down to who can spam the most units, I enjoy using spring and the mods that go with it much more.

Bigsteve sums it up nicely.

I'll add in another reason why supcom is bad I think I havn't brought up before. The supcom unit rooster SUCKS!!! As everyone knows, the 3sides are more identical then orcs and humans in WC2...

Fanbois will argue "the cybran battle tanks have lazors, and the UEF have plasma cannons!" BIG DEAL... not.

The unit ideas are all REALLY boring. Scout, Light Mech, Battle Tank, Bigger Battle Tank... etc

I mean, how standard can u get?

The artwork put into models and scripting is also really bad.

The exception is of course the Xperms... Yeah good idea, lets put all the effort into making big super units that rape everything else in 5 seconds. Then who cares what the other stuff is like. Oh yeah and lets throw in a speed metal like uber metal makers so people can start spamming super units quickly!!!

I thought it was fun except for a few things:
1) Not enough unit/side diversity
2) No metalmaker AI, which really cripples me
3) A bit too much economy micromanagement

I do play it when I can, which is not often due to computer problems.

I didnt like it because the balance was crap.
and thats very important in an RTS. much more important than shinyyy grafics etc.
Aeon are the only race used by good players, for the auroa rush.
cybrans are useless.
each tech makes the previous one redudant.
Porcing is insultingly easy and actually benefical.
micro is non existant, everything spams out.
most the units are of little use.
the commanders feel crap.
nothing feels beefy, the game played correctly never sees more than 100 units on the field at once.
units are tiny. tiny tiny tiny.
99% of the ingame graphics are ASCII Icons.

I did like the unqiue units very much. but the game was too shite for it to be enough. every game Ive played it at Lan goes on forever and its so so dull..

Oh, hell yes. I don't even know if the game needs a mod yet. The core gameplay is fantastic.

Just like in when Spring started up, there were always those who just couldn't let go of their TA. Now here, we see those who just can't let go of their Spring.

Well gee, you know there's this thing I call "Being able to play more than one game at a time"

Currently my roster is E&E, SupCom, Planescape: Torment, Max Payn 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Gundam and the game of Life, which includes a lot of writing. And I mention only EE and Gundam, rather than Spring in general, because I can only rarely PLAY those thanks to BA sucking up the player base!

You get to play 3 "diffrent" factions in 3 "diffrent" campaigns on three sets of "diverse" maps.. (Identical) (Identical)
(Identical)

I can't bring myself to play hte last aeon mission - porc/tech, mass a load of powerful units / make an experimental unit / upgrade com, win - rinse and repeat :/

tis good, i REALLY miss the unit variety from TA though. There are so few unit types, i guess youre supposed to use combinations instead but it aint got no oomph.

Still Zero expansion because theres no goddamn modding tools so I can try and make a balence mod (Less gunship speed, Metal makers need more E, make T2 and T3 units not completely redundate the tech levels below it) and the fact GPG makes maps with bugger all expansion capabilities. The Mantis rush is gone though.

I wish they'd hurry up with the modding and mapping tools.
