Usually play Spring very differently from old TA. That one had single player campaigns were what you are saying was a good tactic. So even if this is funny for some guys (but please, give the man a chance) I can understand why you say this.
BUT. Spring is oriented versus online multiplayer. There are some people that are trying to develop missions, but for now almost all the play is represented in online play. It is a different style, and that is NTAI trying to mimic.
So, give it a chance. Try to change your style. Games are for learning new things, not for doing them all over the same... Be a spectator on online games. You will see different strategies. If you like the game, you will practice and get 'in the heat' of the battle, if not, that's it, tastes are personal...
(and ignore the sarcastic guys, maybe they just forgot when they were unexperienced)

ok thanks.
and I think I got one thing that makes me loose
I usually now play with the XTA pimp edition 5.5 mod (sorry it wasn't absolute annihilation).
and I make the big mistake that right after I build several metal executers a few power plants and an tech lab I begun building advanced tech lab with the commander - it cost him 3 times more time to build it.
and I have a speed problem when I build 40-50 units
please look at this thread and see if you can help me : http://spring.clan-sy.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=9769
Thanks

Build a DT wall, and put HLT's and put missile towers behind it, this should stop most AIs dead in their tracks.
other than that, glad to see someone enjoying my AI, although I wish DJ wasnt the sole tester of the latest builds nowadays (you know who you are, downloading and then giving zero feedback).

ok, but now I'm facing other problem, slowdowns when the units exceed ~100 making it unplayable.hrmph wrote:QFT...Quanto042 wrote:I think this post wins the award for the funniest thing ever spoken in the forums.
Oh yeah and.. be more aggressive: rush the AI. Also.. watch replays and learn from example.

Also, I find that turning off 3D trees and turning down water quality helps greatly.
Instructions on installing NTAI:
1) It has no configs. It has bugs. It is under heavy development. If you're not interested in bugtesting and developing configs, don't download it.
2) Get the latest version of NTAi, extract to Ai\Bot-libs. If there's an NTai folder, extract to Ai\.
3) Get the latest version of the toolkit, extract to AI.
Ok it should work.

I'm using the old version 0.71b in the debspring site. (it is not updated anymore), I have problems installing the new version from the "spring" site.AF wrote:press b, what do the graphs say is sapping your cpu power?
Also NTai should print out a message at the start of the game saying its version, can you see what version it is?
it gives me different messages every time I try to install it.
some of them are concerning the file "spring-basedata" - it can't fetch it.
I can't see any graphical options in debspring other then changing the resolution, and it not helps me
I have P4 1800Mhz, 1GB of RAM and ATI Radeon 9800 Video Card which is strong and should run this game with no problems.
my .xorg depth is 24.
I use Linux Ubuntu Edgy.
