The unit still has to have it's stance updated so it doesn't have the shoulder cliping through the sheild but I thought I would share some pics :). The texture is 512X512. Enjoy.

Wow, very sexy. It's got a realstic grittiness about it, but still feels closely related to the cartoon too. It actually suits the slightly-not-quite-right terrain style of Spring far better then much of the pseudo-realistic models out there.

I need to test it more and I need more time to correct the anti air turrets. I had a few hours so I textured a unit. I need more then a few hours to tweak the anti-air like I want it.

One thing that strikes me as strange is that these guys look pretty awesome with their big armour and shields and shit, but then you look at the gun and it looks so puny it just doesnt fit in with the model. Why are they carrying what looks like sniper rifles from a FPS game?

IMO would look much cooler if they had some massive guns.

It's what they carry in the show. And it still blows stuff up nice and a good, so I'm not complaining.

Demo, this is not somthing smoth made up off the top of his head, he is attempting to replicate the first gundam and some of its sidestory arcs in spring to the best of his ability, so almost all of this is done accurately and specifically from existing artwork and models.. As such smoth has no control over the gun size and so forth since he is trying to recreate it down to the specifics..

Just letting you know, I know many people smoth included sometimes wish they could spice up some of this stuff, but smoth is determined to stick to the canon whether this is a good idea or not I leave up to other people.. I however respect his dedication..

Just an FYI..

I get inconsistent art at that....
Image
The old art is so bad and so inconsistent.

Here is the beam rifle:
Image

It is not a beam bazooka or 330 mm rocket launcher. A Beam rifle is a gun that fires something akin to a long range high damage plasma beam(don't ask for the explanation) and it pretty much is a sniper rifle compared to other weapons.

It has a brightly colored and powerful beam of energy. these guys can devastate enemies.
Here are shots of it shooting(as a note in the shots you can see the old modes):
