Echo35, like the other people said, there are tabs, but you need to resize the window to see them.
At the moment I wont release untill someone gives me the name of a sans serif font thats on Mac, Linux, and windows, which cant be too hard, afterall all a sans serif font is, is a fony that doesnt have those little ticks and bits on the end like courrier or times new roman have, such as arial/helvetica (I cant use this because helvetica would mess with windows users, and arial with linux)

No, Ubuntu doesn't have it.PauloMorfeo wrote:Those icons make up one godam shiny desktop![]()
Even though it is ..blah.. gnome.
Which icon set are those? Or did they came with Ubuntu? I am in 6.06, i think, and i don't have those by default.
You can download them here

As for the font, is it possible to make platform-specific fonts? Like a class that will have some getFont() method which will return different fonts for different platforms?
Which would be a nightmare, one that would pursuade me not to bother and make linux user simply put up with it while I chase after windows users, especially with the idea of there not being a single sans serif font that isn't shared by windows and linux alike being such an absurd notion..
Remember, when I started this project my original target audience was windows users, and for a long time the people driving me on and asking when it'd be finished where windows users.

I'm not a linux user, it isnt a priority for me, rather its a priority for you, and I'd rather not spend hours trying to deal with a lack of 8800 drivers on current linux distributions or virtual machines that lockup just so I can try out aflobby in linux myself when I have better things to do.
Something as simple as a font that appears in both linux and windows isnt too hard a thing to ask for. If nobodies willing to put forward a name of a font thats probably very very well known then I'm fine with that, it just means linux users kicked themselves in the ass.
I have 3 spring related projects, 4 courseworks, a website, major graphics driver issues, debugging issues, 2 potential spring projects in addition to this, and a rapidly decreasing amount of time within which to do it all in. Forgive me if I dont do something but if it takes longer than an hour to find and the answer is smaller than a 5 word sentence then its not worth the time and effort, I have to prioritize, and the time spent doesnt justify the end result.
Don't spend your time telling me what I should and shouldnt be doing right now. I have enough problems as it is and this isnt as much of a priority at the moment. I apologize for being somewhat blunt, but I dont appreciate rude remarks like that.

Just use the font bundled in with spring luxi.ttf
I'm not so sure I know howto write manuals telling linux noobs howto install that font.
As for nvidia drivers, eys I knwo they exist, but whats the use of having them at nvidia.com if the install CDs dont have them? If the installer doesnt have them then the installer cant start X serv which means I cant start the installer program which means I'm stuck with a bash shell with no help data, a cryptic message, and no means of getting help via a second computer. I cant swap gfx cards then install and swap back because I only have the 1 PCI-E gfx card.
And to top that off I've never gotten my wifi working under linux either. I have enough trouble with the existing setup, if you want me to go install linux and spend hours trying to get it to work how I need it, wait till the summer (around august).

Ubuntu 7.04 will have one click driver install. You could try the beta of that. They supposedly just added that feature. The best part is, that you can see if it works without installing it by just booting off the live cd you can download from http://www.ubuntu.com. Of course, I think to install the 3d drivers that may require a restart, in which case you may have to actually install it. But you should be able to find out if it is basically compatible with your machine without installing it.

I dont know howto install drivers under linux, I figured out howto start X server and reproduce the error via guesswork which I then forgot. Its far too much hassle and it flies directly in the face of my previous post. For one I dont want to even try at the moment, what I've doen sofar has proven it to be too great a hassle tot ry and all these replies I'mg ettign about it arent helping me at all they're just pursuading me even more that linux isnt a good idea atm.
And this unviersity computer doesnt have bitstream vera or monostream, I've not heard of them myself.
Do linux users have lucida sans? tahoma? verdana?

Hmm AF .. maybe u can help me, i am trying to use your JNI able unitsync but anytime i try to use it, i get an errormessage that the application is not installed properly ... any idea?
I try it this way:
System.load("E:\\Taspring\\BattleBot\\unitsync.dll");
Ok i found out that there was 2 dll's from VS2005 are missing and added them, but i still get the same error ... any help would be appreciated.

I am unaware of any Java APIs that allow this, and it would bring up the same issue that I would have if every single component had if linux use this else use that, because there are so many components it would take me a very long time do do them all.No just include the fonts you want in your package and link to them directly there are no common fonts.
bitstream vera sans is an opensource fotn not included in any microsoft product. If you have this font and your running windows there's a 99/100 chance you've installed openoffice or some other opensource program commonly found on a linux distribution. And again, I should have between 200 and 300 individual components to change to use OS dependant fonts.Either that or use "bitstream vera stans" i seem to have that on windows and i know its on linux. You could tell java to use bitstream vera stans on linux and arial or whatever on windows.
