Supreme commander....

That's one thing that does bother me. Not as much as you, i think, but yeah...I think the explosions should have more orange in them.
Then again, there's already a full mod out for the game. It's a "draggable UI" mod that allows you to move around parts of the UI to your liking. So I expect new explosion mods will be created by like minded people. Or even me, who knows.
But other than the explosions, I'm pretty happy with the effects. Everything but the flack explosions. They're not black enough for flack, in my eyes at least.
But the game is still lots of fun.

I think supcom is okay, just nothing near what it should have been. and its not aimed at the diehard RTS players, because there control and interface just isnt good enough, and the balancing and economy is frankly a joke. the engine has potential though, so I wont uninstall it until Ive tried to big mods that should be on the way. the two arguments tend to be
FOR: its shiny and neat
AGAINST: gameplay, gui and unit control is suck
a mod could change most of that, but for now, Im sticking to spring

imo their waypoint dragging system is nothing short of revolutionary and should be portedto spring immedietly, as should the factorys and the ability to make our shields workthe way supcom has (which modders have had issues with for quite a while).
Their actual control of single units is a problem, mainly because us here are so used to lots of little controls from spring that supcom doesnt have, however I believe that the creators intended users to never need those sorts of controls to begin with, but could easily add them in.
My only qualm with supreme commander is the delay in issuing orders, which is tiny at the beginning but when you've got lots and lots of units and your 50 minutes into a game, the delay can be upto 10 seconds which really annoys me, I want instantaineous reaction to orders.
Also notice that the minimap isnt a minimap at all but a fully zoomed out picture in picture. Try zoomign with the cursor over the minimap and you can zoom all the way in onto individual untis.

Technically, it is a simulation storybook. There is a sub-genre of simulation/adventure games in Japan which caters to the hentai or "perverted" audience with interactive stories and sexual themes among animated characters. While there are some titles in other genres with similar sexual content, they are not as common.
If you're going to write a book on video games, you have to have a gimmick. My gimmick was complete inclusion of all genres and subgenres.

Sexual themes... get out of tokimeki memorial... I actively screw in mine.neddiedrow wrote:Technically, it is a simulation storybook.
