Alien Shooter Vengeance

Post by KDR_11k »

http://www.sigma-team.net/alienshooter_2/ (there's a demo, too)

I think this should be out now in the US, has been for a while over here already. That game friggin' owns. Basically it's either a linear action RPG or a Crimsonland-like game and involves LARGE numbers of aliens in both modes (just like Crimsonland). One run through the campaign takes about 4 hours but you can run through it multiple times with different builds. I disagree with all the reviews on the difficulty of the game, I found it rather easy even on Hard but then again I searched for as many secrets as I could find (the reviews said it's a very difficult game). It has (online) multiplayer, too, both coop and deathmatch.

It's called Alien Shooter Vengeance in the US, might be a bit confusing.

I remember playing Alien Shooter, but it looks like they've improved the graphics with the adding of "Vengence"

It's a really really cool game. My only complaint is the music. But I just hacked into the game and changed it to the music for Starship Troopers. Hehehe.

I..... think you might have a little..... problem with the first objective. Do you have any idea how long it's going to take to clear that mess up? :P

Not a very long time, assuming you use the right tools.

Nukes are generally considered not the right tools. :-)

Got a warehouse full of 'em stashed away? 'Cause that's the least you'll need to properly clean up this mess. :P

Your commander tells you at one point (mission 5 or so) that he thinks those creatures look a bit like dinosaurs.

Damn this game is addictive... you should've taken a shot after the sightseeing tour in the buggy.

I just played the demo... Oh god if this game is about running backwards and shooting, they at least could have made the running animation a bit less sucky. It hurt my eyes. The game seems fun though.

Character animation is the only thing where the game lacks.

Anyone gotten any far on impossible? It took me 30 mins to kill those dinosaur beasts in the third (or second?) mission (2 of them appear towards the end of the level) with the best available rocket launcher and shotgun. The worst part: 200 XP for each of them and that's nothing. Should have run my girl...
