Supcom and Fundamentalist Islam...IS THERE A CONNECTION?
No. But I was thinking, and that was facilitated by it being late at night, that I had just played the first 2 missions of the Aeon campaign in SupCom aaaaand for a religion devoted to peace, the Aeon are big on the whole "Cleanse, Purge, KILL!" style of hardcore Space Marine LARPers.
So...that begs the question: Is the only different between Muslim Extremists and the Aeon Illuminate advanced, alien technology and lots of high ranking military officers that manage to be both female AND hot?
OR am I just over caffeinated and sleep deprived...again.
YOU decide!

Funny thing, Ive written an essay that for part of it was discussing how Islam, a religion primarily about peace (both within oneself and in the world around you), has degraded into fundamentalist violence. Its quite strange.
But also dont forget fundamentalists in other religions, Christianity and Catholics have their share of idiots as well.

Well this essay I wrote was on the book Thud by Terry Pratchett. Read it if you ever get the chance, its funny as hell
But anyways, I digress. The book, as with the rest of Terry Pratchetts books, is set on Diskworld, and inhabited by humans, dwarfs, trolls, vampires, werewolfs, basically every fantasy book crammed into this one world. The diskworld also bears a stricking resemblance to Earth, while being nothing like it at all. The dwarfs in this case are comparable to current day Islamic fundamentalism. Their religion is mainly good, like any religion, but has its corrupt preists.
The essay just goes about comparing how religions in the world have done this in the past, how some condone horrendous violence in the name of religion, basing their laws on ancient texts taken the wrong way.

I'm SURE theres a lot of hot female military high rank officers around the world willing to demonstrate that they exist to you, Zoombie. You just need to go post that and your home address on US military messageboards, and see how quickly the 17 inch shells and high explosive incindiary bombs arrive <_<lots of high ranking military officers that manage to be both female AND hot?
Pratchett FTW tbh, I currently have every discworld book in paperback in a messy pile next to me, and mosty of them in hardback somewhere too (the paperbacks are starting to fallapart from being man handled too much ^^ )Well this essay I wrote was on the book Thud by Terry Pratchett. Read it if you ever get the chance, its funny as hell Razz
Also, Good Omens is his best non discworld novel imo, and it mentions Dorking in it! I went to school, there, its only 5 or 6 miles from my house
