Turn up the volume, those sounds are pretty quiet. Or you selected the wrong mod, should read KP Edited by Guessmyname or something.

The Guessmyname Edition that I released just has mines in, not sounds.

This one has sounds

I will make 0.7 with sound, mines, deleted thumbs file, included cursor pack and nerfed pointers tonight. I promise to overcome my lazy.

edit: It would be really cool if someone could model the "bad sectors", i.e. wreckage/dt, because when that is in there will have to be some rebalancing methinks. I'd do it myself, but it would take forever and look horrible. And no, I have no idea how it is supposed to look. Maybe like a bit, but only the top half and kinda gray?

How about a load of shards? That's what I'd do

How about piles of ones and zeroes? :P

If not I think that making the wreckage look like smashed versions of the units will do the trick... :P

And for the crushed wreckage we can have the shards.

Dunno, I'd make them look like red blocks, 2x2 footprint and half as high as they are wide. But I'm busy with exams so I can't make anything right now.

Thanks, fixing them as we speak.

Quick poll: Should the mines be called "Buffer Overrun" or "Logic Bomb"? I like both names and I can't decide. Buffer Overrun is more low-level like the rest of of stuff, but Logic Bomb describes a mine perfectly.

0.7 with sound will be out later this evening after some initial testing.

I went for Logic Bomb, because I thought that nobody except supernerds would make a connection between a mine that goes boom and a buffer overrun.

Now 0.7 is almost done, but I can't quite get the sounds to work. Firing, dying and stuff al works. But when you select a unit it doesn't respond, and it doesn't respond when you give it an order.

i have this in the sounds.tdf
[COMPUTER]
{
select1=select;
arrived1=commandgiven;
ok1=commandgiven;
}
and every units has this in its fbi:
SoundCategory=COMPUTER;
and the appropriately names sounds are in the sounds folder ending in .wav. Why can't I hear the selecting sounds?

Mines = AF's latest .patch 8)

Kidding.. I agree with overrun, fits in the naming scheme.

NEW VERSION 0.7 RELEASED

Download it here

Changelog 0.62 -> 0.7
--------------------------

() Sound added -- thanks Noruas
() Logic Bomb added -- thanks Guessmyname
() Nerfed Pointer
() Byte is now faster, half as fast as a Bit
() Bugfix: Assembler won't try to attack anymore

edit: I forgot to credit Guessmyname in the mod, sorry. I'll do it next version, I promise.

edit2: smoth, if you are still interested in adding some cool effects over the weekend, that would be sweet. I think the mine might profit from some more visual awesomeness, for example.
