Troubles with Wings 3D

Post by OrangeKnight »

So I'm fiddleing around with some simple concept models and figured I could try some concept Texturing too...but when ever I try to make a texture it never shows up in the directory that the model is saved in.

I've been following the 'Units:CreateModel' page form the Wiki and it worked twice, but not since...

Any ideas?

I assume you created a sketch texture. Right click on it in the outliner and use export and save it. PNG will have the smallest size.

You can import images by using "Import Image..." from the file menu by the way.

If you change your exported texture then select "Refresh" from the context menu.

Window -> Outliner
Image

You can make a window automatically fit in workspace by clicking the title bar of it with the middle mouse button by the way.

So, if I read that right, I can just keep editing the image and it'll update the texture on the model?

Still new at this! :D

Thanks,

Uh yeah.

I make my textures in Photoshop using a cut out UV sketch (+1 pixel to the borders) as a starting point because I prefer to work with layers. Then I just import it and use refresh whenever I change some bits.

If you want to assign a different texture then just drag the (imported) image on the material in the outliner.
