yes I was.

I get really pissed off. The TA content is something they can just take. I WISH it was that simple for me, argh or fang! I get pissed because many ta mods barely try, they change stats and add/modify a few units. Which is little more then a mutator. I mean christ on a crutch, I have gone through soo many sweeping changes in my mod with me noting it as a small note like:increased radar range.

Ta mods do not get to worry about gameplay, they modify it but they already have gameplay. That is what really ticks me off.

Take the TA content, start working together instead of all the competition bullshit and make a super-duper-sexy looking TA! Then, take that base mod and make all the variants.

That way spring can have a TA package with mutators to cover the mod.. instead of like 20 ta mods in my folder all using the same damn file. Make one TA mod, I can download it, make the thing every month. That way their are deadlines for the sub-mods/mutators to be worked on.

At this point in time I tried to go back to playing the TA:S mods and found myself utterly bored! DO YOU HEAR ME BORED! TA mods as they are now are bland and without excitement. I want colors and explosions! I want interesting models! TA mods or TA:S as I call them are like an order of tofu covered in bland sauce! I want my cookie! I want some chocolate bits on my tofu! JUST POUR THE SUGAR ON!

I pretty much agree with this 100%. Only difference being the fact that I'm not mad...

LLTA. :) Heck, you made some of the effects for it yourself..... plus, it's got the Monkeylord! And everybody loves Monkeylords! Right? And besides, what's better than an Ion Cannon or an Orbital Rocket Storm? ;) Or even just a plain ol' laser? Heck, if I were you I'd play LLTA just for teh shineyness. :)

yep, I have been very adamant about helping llta but at the moment he is just trying to get his base mod up and going. Game balance and stability/buggy scripts are still an issue for him. I look forward to specing that mod though. I hope it'll be like a pixy stick poured on my eye.

Most people use TA because noone's laying claim to that and most people can barely change fbi files. Letting them remodel OTA wouldn't work because almost none of them could model, texture, script or anything else that isn't tweaking stats.

My tip for smoth, froma players point of view - GAMEPLAY > graphics.

Apply this to gundam = mod with more than 5 regular players.

Putting choccy on ya tofu is no good if the tofu is mouldy ^^

Gameplay abolutely comes before graphics.

Blaming Gundam's gameplay for it's unpopularity is flamebait in the extreme.

E&E, Nanoblobs et al are equally unpopular, and they all have solid gameplay. n00berhack had more players after it's launch than Gundam - and you can't seriously beleive that n00berhack is better gameplay.

Or, to further the destroy the concept that popularity comes from good gameplay: Speedmetal.

Indeed.

Gameplay is on par with graphics to be honest. I mean would you play TA if it was in NES 8 bit graphics?

The graphics make out half the athmosphere of a game (or mod), then come sound effects and anything else. The gameplay keeps you playing but so do all the other little gimmicks. Your opinion in all honesty but you're not the role model :P

NES? Thats a bit extreme, but steve is right, gameplay is more important, if that wasn't the case no one would ever play any of their older games. Eyecandy is great for getting peoples attention, but people will not stick with something if it is fundamentally flawed. Would you be happy buying a £100,000 Aston only to find it drives like a tractor?.... actualy, scrap that, some things are so beautiful lust can let you surpress how awful it truely is.. but you get hte point :P

Well, i understand what im saying anyway ^^
