Space travel is honestly stupid. I mean seriously its the immagration thing all over again. We will be england and we'll be going over to the americas. Except the natives probably are t4.

But...er...immagration to america has brought about hundres of very very important technological inventions...like the computer we're using right now.

The fronteer, whether it's the Wild West or Mars, creates a need for innovation. Without innovation humanity will stagenate and if humanity stagenates, then humanity ends sooner rather than later. And being a humain, I don't really want that to happen.

T4? t4...what the hell is T4?

Would a god want to ruel a bunch of earthworms? Unlikely. They're probebly going to be so advance they're just not going to care. Now if we're unlucky, we're going to find Cthulu and if we are lucky, we're going to meet the Leauge of Peoples.

And if you don't know what those are, you need to read more books.

BAH! We can still win in a fight! Why? cause we humans have been fighting eachother for years! we love to fight! I bet all this time we've spent fighting eachother has been to simply hone our skills for the future! And i bet we will be better military strategists than any other race out there. Why?

CAUSE OUR FRIGGIN GAMES ARE ABOUT STRATEGY FOR CRYIN OUT LOUD!!!

And any race that fights and contemplates strategy FOR FUN deserves to win.

Cthulu? The Great Old One? H.P Lovecraft? Any of these things ring a bell!

Gah. Cthulu is an ancient being so far beyond our comperhension that being in the same room as it causes mortal men to go completely insane. It's malignant, evil and all powerfull...so we really don't want to meet anything like it.

I know.

To Quanto: And if they have super fun RTS games ?

Im basically just trying to say I hope we dont do anything stupid like ignorantly land on a planet and claim it to be ours. That sort of shit causes wars. And if had just started space travel, what if other races had already gone before us and made entire inter-galactic alliances. And if we land on one of there planets and offend them. We could be offending several hundred planets all together. Im just saying ' I hope humans are repsonsible enough by then '.

Bah! We'll CONQUER THEM ALL!!!! May they all die and be enslaved by our sheer force of will and noble determination!!!

Seriously, humanity (as in all ppl on earth, not just western culture), is the true master race of the universe and i feel sorry for anything that opposes us.

Well pretty much every single planet in the solar system other than ours is most likely to NOT support intellegent life. For one thing, we'd have noticed. Radio waves kinda travel :)

Though it would have been awsome to recive radio messeges from Europa or something. So intellegent life is pretty much out for the solar system. So we can move around without worrying about anything other than the elments and humanity. And belive me, thats enough to worry about for this century.

Maybe in the century after that, we can go to the stars and meet the aliens.

Anyone ever read the Larry Niven story "The Warriors" ?

Basic premis: Aliens attack mankind, who have become a peacefull race by the time they've met. Aliens think: Hey, these people are peacefull! We can take them! But it turns out that the reason mankind abandoned war was because we had become so...very...very good at it.

It's not a book, it's a short story that Larry Niven wrote. He has it in many of his anthologies. The best one to find though would be the The Man-Kzin Wars (I actaully spelled it right this time). The only problem with the Man-Kzin Wars is only a few of the stories are actually written by Larry Niven, the rest written in the same universe/timeline. They vary in how good they are.

But, in general, get things by Larry Niven. He kicks ass.

you know, even non intelegent life in OUR solar system would be extermly intresting, since it's basicly proves that life can exsist (and does exsist) elsewhere... i mean, 2 in one solars system, what are the odds?

and offcourse, if they can like.. breathe nitrogen or something, that would also be usefull knowledge...

but higly unlikely offcourse...

It would be really interesting... a new lifeform for us to exterminate until extinction just to get their horns that we think that are cute and then launch the rest in a trash can :-)
