ahh easy way to sort that out use advanced ones they cant be seen by artillery uless they have a sonar plane flying around

Depends on the mod. XTA (IIRC) has the Adv. Torp Launcher under-water (which may be too deep for the crossings, I don't know) whereas AA/BA (again, IIRC) have it as a surface unit, same as the basic Torp Launcher.

Yes, xta does have it fully underwater...it's usually too deep for crossings, but it often works fine when placed off to the side.
