Balanced Annihilation v4.7 !!

Some common sense factors need to be chosen for which units specifically can pass through Dragon's Teeth defences though.
It can't just be as simple as , Ok All LVL-1 units will be blocked by DT regardless, All LVL-2 units can pass over LVL-1 DT but not LVL-2 Walls, and All LVL-3 can pass over everything.
It has to be more dynamic, and thats the problem.
Each one of us will have our own opinion of what should/shouldn't pass over which A/B/C structure.
I'll just give an example of what "I" would pick for units that could pass over DT & fortwalls based on size/speed and weight class, and 1 special exception for the LVL-2 Spider units.
Its too bad that the game couldn't be made to work with ATV units like Spider tanks to passover DT without having to destroy/Crush them in the process.

Maybe there could also be a class of unit in LVL-1 that could easily destroy Dragon's teeth and wrecks easily too, such as Janus and Leveler would be perfect in that role.

Isn't the Intruder a hovercraft? If so, then, why can it crush DTs, apart from the fact that it is a transport?
Then don't reclaim wrecks. Rez them. Instant combat units.Saktoth wrote:The moment he sucks them up, i push through. He doesnt have time to do anything with the metal. That being said, if you ever get the opportunity it is naturally better to suck up the wreckage and replace it with real DT's. If the enemy is constantly attacking you though, sucking up wreckage can be suicide.PHAIL. If your enemy isn't a moron he's just turned all those wrecks into units, which he will attack with. Additionally you should keep mobile units infront of your defenses, as this makes them much more effective.
Ten million HP?Ishach wrote:Imo intruder should definitely crush them. It already is underused and it'd be a niche unit for getting alot of troops through a small chokepoint.
Anyway its a 10,000k HP unit from a T2 Vech lab I think it should crush things >:(

Well, yes, gameplay-wise perhaps it should..... but logically, if it's heavy enough to crush DTs, how come it can float over water? I'm not saying I'm adamantly against this idea, but an explanation would be nice. Otherwise, IMO, it should either lose amphibiousness entirely (bad) or crawl along the bottom of the ocean (nice - surprise landing), in which case it might benefit from having a weak torpedo weapon added, but that's for the community to decide.

Check the height an OTA hovercraft travels at also... it's not high enough to avoid the DT...Ishach wrote:Imo intruder should definitely crush them. It already is underused and it'd be a niche unit for getting alot of troops through a small chokepoint.

Im just saying, too often is there people coming into the AA/BA threads to go against gameplay ideas and using minor points about realism to back themselves up.
For all I care I could be seeing different coloured squares fighting it out each with various attributes - as long as gameplay was sound and im pretty sure i'm not alone on this.

You most definitely are not alone.Ishach wrote:Im just saying, too often is there people coming into the AA/BA threads to go against gameplay ideas and using minor points about realism to back themselves up.

The intruder is not a hover, it travels underwater, not on the surface.
IMO making it a unit that can crush DT's would make it more useful, but then if a gollie etc can also crush them, then it becomes less useful again.
Perhaps let it kill Fortwalls too as a sort of blockade runner (Not that anyone really builds fortwalls, but maybe they would if gollies crushed DT's).

Lets put this in terms you ppl can understand.
DT able to block everything is bad, let me explain.
On normal, semi or Open area maps with few chokepoints, DT will never be able to seal off all attacks ever, at best they can deter or deflect an attack to another area.
On choke point maps, its rediculous that a defence that costs 8 metal can neutralise offensive units 4x its size and up to 100x its cost simply by being there.
I could build a wall of fleas at that cost too, but its not going to stop anything.
As if Wrecks weren't bad enough for stopping combat ATM with the lighter units.
The point of this isn't to make DT useless like all the other defences, but to make those LVL-2 Units "Usefull".

I can confirm the DT problem, yesterday i had a nice 4v4 Altored Divide game, and 1 enemy sealed his entrance with a single line of DTs. I sent Goliaths and one of my teammates Sumos, but they couldn't crush the fence, so we had to get a Freaker-army to the front.
Also, Krogoths can't crush fortress walls at the moment which i thought was introduced in some earlier AA version.
Regarding the Epoch, i don't think it should lose AA capability, torpedo bombers get them well enough, and if they don't it's usually because the Epoch is well-escorted which isn't due to the Epoch's AA (in which case it deserves to survive imho). Also, berthas hurt them enough already imho and can't be reached by the Epoch's guns.

For a long time in AA they had way too much health, and took forever to destroy by brute force. The only things that seem to ever destroy them is long-term artillery bombardment or rocko-hordes during the "everybody uses rockos" phase (since rockos tend to hit the DTs more than other units).Machiosabre wrote:you know you might consider shooting the dt, they're not immortal, even if there are defenses behind them theres always arty and spybots that can kill them.
I think the problem with dt at the moment is that people think a line of dts completely seals an area forever unless reclaimed.
