This one time, I was in a team with 3 (maybe 4) others on - what's it called again? Something like "valley of death", or something like that, was kind of popular some time ago, anyway, I'm in the north-west corner and most other players got one of the metal spot areas, but there's one guy left over. He starts out in front of me and goes about building forward defences. (At least, he was supposed to.)

The guy builds a single Exploiter and some LLTs, and moves forward. OK. Good. He starts building an outpost nearer to the enemy. The enemy, however, got wind of this and tore up his outpost. He retreats to a flat piece of ground roughly halfway on the map, and builds up a frontline there. (Using just LLTs.)

Meanwhile, I'm preparing a small army which should be enough to take down an outpost or so. (I could probably have been building a lvl2 plant by now, but gimme a break, I'm pretty much a n00b and all I need to be happy is for my economy to run properly.) Now I have this thing for drawing lines and points on the map, pertaining mainly to either key enemy structures/units (jammers/MRPCs/comms/etc.) or strategy. So I go about devising a strategic plan for the guy, using both labels and chat.

However, somehow, he thinks that I'm insulting his manlihood or something. He started scolding like I have never seen before in a game. I was a "useless f***tard" and more of such expletives. Meanwhile, he was building a Punisher. He flat-out refused to put it in high trajectory mode until after several minutes, when it was finished and one teammate said that I was right and that it DID confer a damage bonus.

By then, I had completely forgotten about my army (>_> <_< >_>) which hadn't even been completed.

He found out.

"XXXXX added point:
XXXXX added point:
XXXXX added point:
XXXXX: WHY THE F*** DONT U USE THEM"

OK, OK, so I move them forward. He keeps telling me I'm a useless f***tard even when my army (such as it was >_>) had reached his base, where they halted for a spell until I sent them into the maws of the enemy. Boom. The enemy had an MRPC of their own up. Within seconds, all that was left were three Wolverines, and a few seconds later, his (i.e. my teammate's) Punisher was being shelled by the enemy MRPC and overrun by a couple of Jeffies.

Which of course was all my fault.

His comm went boom not too long after his Punisher did, and took most of his front line with it. Obviously, I was to blame for all of this.

So what did he do?

Of course.

Ctrl+A Ctrl+D.

All of my (our) teammembers were pretty pissed, he still had an Exploiter, a lab and a couple of LLTs which could have been useful in the hands of another player. But no, he was right in self-Ding everything, because:
"XXXXX: he was useless
XXXXX: he didnt deserve it"

and even then he kept scolding. He even gave away intel to the opposing team. >_<

Despite the fact that I have never scolded him in that game, even when he self-D'd (though I was pretty close to doing so), and the fact that I stated multiple times that I was still pretty much a noob and that I was doing my very best (which obviously wasn't enough), he still kept calling me "useless f***tard". Even in the battle screen after the battle was over.

He may not have caused us to lose entirely, but he certainly helped us along the way, not in the least by telling the enemy where our defences were the strongest and where it was better for them to attack. That was the last game I played with that guy, and the last one I will EVER play with him on my team.

I dont remeber saying any of that...

:P

Either I'm with good people, or with total idiots that cant think there way out of a paper bag... but the worst was someone that said; "I'll build a krogoth to stop this stale mate!!", which obviosly is nott he thing to do on small divide especialy if it means your relying on your allie who graciolsy gave you his metal spots to defend you....

I remember a guy who in a team game spent the whole game making a long long LONG line of llts and HLTS across the map, and then the enemy went through them with fast units and trashed his base and he had no power for them.

I remember infite times of pushing to center of the map at the start of the game only to find the rest of my teams build order to be:
1x mex
5x wind
4x llt
1x nanostall for the whole game

I only play with people I know now because Im sick of those kinda teammates. it'd be better for your team ot just reclaim their commanders for metal when their not looking for the use they are.

Today I was playing a speedmetal game. First mistake.

My teammate was high-ranked but not very good. Now, I'm no speedmetal champ - far from it. I've got a general idea of the buildorder, strategy and stuff but I just don't execute well. Anyway, I start building, I have my second vehicle lab and maybe 15 winds up when I look at the other part of our "base" and see... nothing. I guess he's making some fleas or something but he has a handful of winds and mexes and his commander's just... kinda... sitting there.

"why fleas?"
"recon"

I guess that's an OK idea but I've already sent in a few scouts to test the waters: basic speedmetal defenses.

"get on the ball dude"

blah blah, I'm got an anti-nuke up, advanced fusion, advanced vehicle plant pumping out bulldogs with some nanotower support. He's got another kbot lab, making an advanced lab, with maybe another 4 solars.

"dude, c'mon, pick up the pace a little"

During this time I've been trying to hold the middle. His "help" is a pair of missile towers and some very inconvienent dragon's teeth.

Fast forward about 5 minutes, he starts building an anti-nuke. I've had one up for quite some time. Inform him of this, e-shrug, continues.

Blah, blah, I get nuke and an advanced air plant up in hopes of punching a hole with some flak-resistant gunships and atomic bombers. Send that over to little avail - they've got their base anti-aired to the hilt. That was my mistake, although considering the middle was swamped with Annihilators just beyond the circle and they were shelling the crap out of it with Berthas I was lacking in choice.

Their final attack comes. Now, I have some mobile flaks, maybe 10-15 PackOs, not nearly enough. My buddy has zilch. You'd think with the radar planes that keep coming in he would have it figured out - need some air cover. Planes sweep in and annihilate us. Game ovar. We might have survived a little longer had he actually kinda built something. I'm not saying I'm some glorious victorymonger, skilled in the arts of war, blah blah blah, but you think a rank-4 player would have picked up at least a little. I had played a couple of VERY victorious speedmetal games earlier (including one on speedmetal duo where we built two vulcans at basically the same time), one of which he was in, and when we tried to give him some advice he got huffy.

I guess it's not the fact that he was bad that annoys me - I suck, I've got no right to talk - but it's just the fact that he did so little, and without taking any advice. I've specced worse, though.

I had a friend on teamspeak (I was really excited, it was my first teamspeak ever) in altored_divide, allied with me.

so after a bit I see an atlas coming for my comm. I run my boy, and try to get my llt to shoot it but to no avail. I realise that it's not the enemy's atlas, but my friend's. I tell him to put my comm down. about 20 times.

"I will, I will".

he puts my comm down behind the enemy base. what else can I do but walk in, d-gun blazing.

of course, I'm the bad guy. everyone calls me a c*ck and someone rage quits. I didn't talk to him for about a week. funny in retrospect and (if he'd had my permission) a valid tactic. but still. PISSED ME RIGHT OFF.

I once played a game on Metalheck. We'd waited around for a while and were hoping for a 4v4 but only had enough for a 3v3 so I joined the team opposite from who I'm usually with. I had a member of PRO on my team. I say what the other guys are going to do. This PRO person's build order is 5 solars 1 mex then factory so they keep going "guys share m and e".

Then suddenly an hlt starts firing into their base and they go "help guys i have been boxed in". Somebody had taken two minutes to build an HLT outside PRO's base which I'd specifically said they'd do and could have been stopped really easy. So I start spamming gators and one or two things of art and gift them over. They go "stop giving me so much micro you're so useless >:-(". By this point their com had exploded and they were left with 3 adv solars. I gave them a con unit and they suicided it into the HLT. The gators were then sent three at a time into the HLT while the arty attacked it with no support. They then said "great i had such a shitty team" "thanks guys i'm leaving". We lost badly afterwards. I was pretty pissed about it because the PRO person was such an idiot. So they PMd me the stuff that would disconnect you from the server, which didn't work because it had been fixed. They then challenged us to a 3v1 speedmetal. Two of the guys on the 3 side desynced (including me :(). From what I heard they nuke rushed and it was stopped through spec cheating, although they won in the end.

That was pointlessly long but it's pretty much the only story I've ever remembered. They've also been the Monarch of AA quite a few times.

I made about 12 XTA speedmetalers play a non-speedmetal map yesterday by joining the bot at the last second and using my admin power to set it to Real.
It was horrific. they were the worst players and they Mstalled instantly and... I... I cant talk about it anymore *sobs*

Small Supreme, 3v3. I took the middle, with 2 enemy pushing me. Having to concentrate on my frontline, economy wasn't up to much. By this time the guy in the "rich" metal spot had taken 3/4 of the metal and was using it to fund fusions and an army of.... farks. I had about 5 patches and the 2nd guy had 4. After repeated calls for some sort of assistance or metal, to which the reply was "lol", I thought a ctrl+a+d was in order.

I also recall another game where a team mate was building a ship yard in the little lake up the back of ssb - the logic being "im building an epoch, they wont expect it!"

Yes, I never want to play ssb ever again.

Ok so I've just fiinshed playing a game of tangerine with teams of 6, mostly stars. I was playing from the bottom starting near the right most land bridge.

So I weasel rush and comm push and actually knock out my opponent in the first 5 10 minutes, but unfortunately this costs me my comm and a farily week base. But no matter I think, I can take the peninsula where my opponent was and we'll win the game. All I need is some support form my allies....

Do they? Of course not. In fact all they do is suck up the wreckage of my comm and my opponents comm and pi** off.

First all my forces on the other side of the bridge get destroyed by a five or so fighters. All it would have taken to stop that was a few fighters or anti-air units from my guys, to give my con units a chance to get a tower or two up, but no, nothing.
In fact the two players to my right spend their time teching letting the enemy build an entire sea base just off the land bridge (sealing it off) and eventually I was destroyed by a good old fashioned unit rush.

Argh, that game was in the bag but my damn starN00b allies just threw it away :(

Small Supreme is the worst for crap-teammates if you take the middle - You know how it is, small supreme is usually 3v3, with one in the middle and one on each coast... and all the metal goes to one of the coasts (never mind the middle dude has the really hard job). And if that coastal player is bad, you're completely screwed.
