custom MP3 folder

Post by 1v0ry_k1ng »

I was thinking, its not really practical to include the music with spring but would it be hard to place a folder inside the spring directry called CUSTOM MP3 that plays the mp3s in it during game?
a .txt readme specifies the names should be BUILDING# and BATTLE# (#=number)
using a similar system to TA's, you could make it play the BATTLE 1-# mp3s when a certain amount of units die/minute.

this would be compatible with other music but more to the point it would be possible to plug the TA music in, rename it and get dynamic music again. and It shouldnt infringe any copyright, its optional (just dont place music in the folder) and hopefuly not too hard to do?

Agreed. The only need for this feature is to tweak the volume since so many of us ATI users are in the alt-tab = death situation.

Winamp supports hotkeys (Global Hotkeys in the options), dunno about other players.

Winamp hotkeys ftw, but we digress.

Ingame DYNAMIC music that changes with the situation, thats whats being asked for. Would be totally sweet, but really not desperately needed.

I was mostly suggesting it so the music was dynamic with the action again, ie, switching to battle tunes during battles.
for running music with games use foobar, it uses less system than notepad.

yes, its MTR and my pet project. I'm workin on it, ok guys? Its not easy, since the code is such a hellhole when trying to judge what defines a battle or not...
