The bastard deserved to die a much more painful death, but I don't believe anyone has the right to decide someone has to die (not talking about euthanasia here, that's a whole other conversation), even if it's the biggest prick ever to walk on the planet. Death penalty is just another horrible instrument for the randomness of the (in the case of Iraq undoubtedly corrupted) justice system.

In my opinion, everyone should have the unconditional right to live. Life is the only thing that can be lost forever in this universe. It's sad to see how little respect some people have for it.

+1 totally against the death penalty myself, there are times when you hear about something so bad that someone has done where it makes you wonder, but after a while you settle back down. Many innocent people have been executed over the years, and even one is far too many.

I'm pro "Organ Banks"

See take a murdur and feed him into the organ banks. They take him apart for heart, lungs, kidnys, so on and in the prossess he saves...about ten lives. And these will be, on the whole, pretty damn good organs. They won't be scraped out of car crash victems or from eighty year olds who donated their body to science.

So that way there is some real 'payback'. Through his death, the murdur can save ten lives.

The only reason for Saddam to be hang up - is that he couldn`t defend himself with all his army. In world history there are no good and bad people - there are those who win and thouse, who loose.

The execution footage is funny. Well, funny in the sense that it's kind of eerie watching Saddam die, after being used to his face for so long. Then you see it hanging there at a god-awful angle after his neck snaps.

Babax, don't defend Saddam simply because Bush or whomever has done worse. Don't reduce yourself to supporting the better of two evils. Celebrate justice dealt against a man who deserved it, and continue hoping for justice against all others who deserve it. But don't take away from Saddam's demise. It has caused uproarous celebration in Iraq and is the will of the people -- atleast for that celebrate it, not because it is what Bush wanted as well.

The US will get theirs, don't worry.

Who knows, who knows... Things are not always exactly so as they looks. Give me a month, two million bucks and a country without goverment and I`ll make people to hold a festival ceremony in the name of super-man ...myself, or, if you like it more - yourself... It`s quite a simple task :) Or to make a celebration over your hanging up - much easier, All I`ve need is just to show people that you a awfull terrorist or something like that, spend some money for free beer of free candies - and you`ll be surprised how easy it all can turned uside-down.
