Works now 8) The models now fade out, just like they should, in SVN build.

Hmm. Just tried with the latest auto-build and it didn't work.

Argh, could you post the details of the s3os and settings you're using?

Does it require advanced shaders to be enabled in order to work?
What kind of .dds are you using for skins?

Ect, ect.

Edit: also tried with b2. I'm thinking the problem is with my skins, if you don't have any issues with it Argh...

I always have advanced shaders on. The S3Os were using DDS DXT5, IIRC. I'll take a look at your stress-test and see if it works there, too, or not- I really doubt it was some fluke of the alpha channels, but idk.
