make the shields cost 1-5? metal to make it usable, but impossible to spam on most maps...

Just played a game of EE on divided shores dry. I saved myself with a sudden bomber attack. Then, because my air pads were parked a mesa away from his base, I ran several bomber raids against him. Flack took many of them down and my poor level 1 mechs were slaughtered. Because my enegry reserves were at an all time low, I build level 2 shotgun mechs. Hot DAMN those are great at dispersing the crouds.

Can't we be nice? Are you guys going to scrutinize fang constantly now? Do you have ANY idea how bad he feels about his faux pas?

Fang isn't a developer, programer or anything related to that, just a guy who was having fun working on his mod, people liked it so he kept working on it. Rather then doing this public scrutiny couldn't you have pmed him or even looked in the mod? the files are all there, rather then make accusations you could have simply compaired it yourself maybe?

Yeah, it is a purple texture with panel lines, it looks like the ta texture.. so would any other purple texture with panel lines. However, rather then looking you simply force people to be on the defensive. This has to stop.

Maybe he was just asking if this was a TA texture because it looked so similar and wasn't in fact trying to murder Fang with his vicious lies?

Seriously I doubt anybody really cares anymore. If you stop forcing people to think about it people will forget.

I seriously doubt it.. and the fact that people are constantly harassing me about this even before the incident leads me to believe I must have some sort of theivish aura..

And tombom why shouldnt he PM me about it.. why does he need to make a post in the thread.. it simply calls more doubt on the whole thing..

I honestly wanted to finish this project.. but I think it would be better If I just left.. as far as I can tell my mod is not well liked, something that is more than likely not going to change.. given I was doing this for fun and because I wanted to.. well its starting to become not fun. I feel I have been branded by the community as a some sort of disreputable person. I dont feel my ability to do anything related to modding is respected much at all, even by the other modders. I also feel that Im largely ignored by most people. I have also been told that some people think Im an arrogant jerk. Apparently Ive been handling myself in an entirely poor manner, IM not really sure, it wasnt intentional. Im not trying to have a pitty party for myself but I just feel that in all seriousness It would be best if I just up and left. I honestly dont think I would be missed much, Im not considered a contributer, and TBH I cant say thats a wrong thought to have. I dont think any of the other mod makers trust me now. So Im not sure what the point of staying would be, its like trying to row upstream doesnt matter how hard I go the current is just gonna push me farther down. I accidently dug myself a deep hole and I dont see a way to fill it back in. I think I really ought to just skip out and stop bothering the lot of you. Best way I can put it is that the community now more than likely views me in this manner:

Fang, keep doing the mod, I like it and is the only one I play at the moment (I don't play online, just over AI, having ping spikes of 400 ms on a LOCAL server and being far away with a crappy machine doesn't help). Damn, I would make the config for NTai if I could only make the editor run on linux (doesn't run on mono, .net installer refuses to run due to missing msi install 2.0, which refuses to install here) :cry:

what?? no fang dont gooo. also, your mod is the pro. all the slander comes from the AA-ONLY bag, and only because they cant handle a mod that stops porcing. EE is the pro. and any feelings of being disliked are overblown. if you post on the forums you just have to come to except that for every mature adult there are two retarded idiots who will just be liek "AA no1 lozl u sukcsz!!"

I don't know about others, but I've always considered EE to be the flagship of the Spring engine. AA/XTA/etc are too tied down with Cavedog, Gundam is fan-art, and Nanoblobs is too strange. EE perfectly exemplifies what it's for.

Don't let one little incident and a lot of little trolls ruin your passion. Remember that complaints are louder than praise. Often, people won't even mention a good time - they'll only mention when things go wrong. Don't let them get you down.

Just remember that tone doesn't come over the internet. For all we know that texture-point-out could've been someone trying to be helpful... it just comes off as an attack since text is always harsh.

What kind of hair splitting nitpicker would zoom way in on a unit to comapir textures? Someone with too much time on their hands, thats what.

EE is made of win and is the only mod I play on Spring with any regularity. If you stop making it, I stop doing Spring. And if you stop me from doing spring, then I would have to kill you, Fang.

KDR's not bad - he was probably just trying to be helpful... and I'm sure he saw the texture when trying to learn from Fang's model (KDR made a lot of fun experimental mods like the Dozerz mod and that Chaos one with the swarms of bugs - and he's pretty good modeller too).

I uploaded the source of v0.17 when it was released, please feel free to try and compile it to a mono assembly and port it or tell me what problems you get in the process of trying.

Anyone have a AAI cfg that does work? I modified one from an old version and it only builts some resource stuff, no weapons at all.
