So, it seems so many of us here do roleplaying also.

so, here:

http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0386.html

And, to explain the point of this topic, have you ever, when playing, OR GMing, come across something like this....

Mine's more or less when I let 1 of my players try to fly a plane.....

Failing critically on FLY PLANE is a BAD THING....

However, failing critically on fly plane, then sucessfully using psychic powers to keep said plane in the air as a follow up... is amusing :P

I usually let people roll against luck after losing control of a vehicle, just to reduce party-killing crashes.

Because the whole party getting killed off because one player can't roll for beans is never fun.

I don't get it. At all. Am I not as nerdy as I thought I was?

What does NALE mean...?

Yeah, I didn't get the comic, or how it related to air flight, either.

I think my favoret moment in pencil and paper roll playing is when my part was being lead by the local jabber mouth, Candleman. He's saying: "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing" and opened the next door. And behind that is a Supermutant with a flame thrower. Foosh and Candleman dies a horrible pain full death.

Oh wait...that hasn't happened...yet. <Sneaky look left and right>

Read the comic previous to it.

Nale is the dudes name. He is cheating on his girlfriend(?) with that other lady. Then everyone jumps in screaming his name angrily.

Why this is funny, i dont know, so dont ask me :P

Wha.. Hey!

I resolve never to open doors, now.

My favorite moment was when our GM decided not to have a proper storyline. We arrived at a town and got the basic "Kill the natives" mission. We ended up joining the natives, demolishing the town with their own defence turrets, and making a tank. We were driving our new army forward when we met the Brotherhood of Steel, at which point the school year ended and we disbanded. Best "no story" game ever.

I no longer feel that nerdy for posting about Warhammer.

Hey, I was that GM!

But Candleman is right. I really sucked back then. Which Is why I intend to NOT suck as much as possible this time around.

Well, if you think roleplaying is more nerdy than tabletop wargaming, just for your consideration, you're entirely wrong.
