but it should still be visible as some kind of disturbance/texturing of the surface?

nah i'd like to see some more flooded desert styley maps..OTA way is just...old :lol:

Ah yes, that one. Does this significantly change gameplay/strategies, and is it bad?

I think I'll try this myself... but it would be cool if you had a kind of general (like 5 red) greeness all over the map, occational patches of 100 red around the place, and then spots of 255 red that would be blooms on the surface... not "metal patches" like in OTA, but like big veins or bursts... that kind of think... I think that would work well... fit in with the way everyone plays...you'd have something visible to fight about... you could use the metal map showy bit to find medium patches, and you could just build a mex farm if you wanted a compact base... see, now you've got me wanting to make a map again...

Hmmm, it might be interesting to make a map with the metal as a seam rather than concentrated on a single spot. Then players could slowly advance up the seams. The map maker could directly dictate the route of expansion for players, and create all sorts of issues as seams diverge, and richer seams follow more dangerous routes.

Could make for an interesting map type...

yeah aGorm i ADORE your map :D it rocks have played it 4x already :) its all good 8) neway more ppl please post their NEW maps with the new way of setting out metal please. (not that i don't like your map aGorm but i already have it and ALL of the maps from FU :D currently neway)

sweet thanks aGorm ur maps are so cool and SO good looking 8) shame there isn't more map-makers like u! (if there are i want a map :lol: )
