try using "Hold Position"

If your units are not on hold position they always go within their max range to get a shot. This is not new.
Yeah, it was the first thing i tried.

This i especially annoying on elevated ground. For example, place some fidos on top of the hills in small divide. Their if you try and shoot anywhere near the end of their (now extended) range, they walk basically ALL the way down the hill, regardless of stance! That really needs to be fixed!

EDIT: BTW this only happens if you physically click attack a unit. If they attack automatically at units in their range, it seems fine.

Fix the shader issue and the l mode problem should go away.
The problem is that using LOS mode (activated by 'L') shows everything in a shade of grey. He'd like within-los to be non-greyed, instead of light-greyed.

Hey, just tested it and the problem I described above is still there. Is this hard to fix? Sorry about the nagging, but IMO it is a quite serious bug which requires a fix (and no i cannot fix it myself -> am not a good programmer (yet))

Otherwise, the release is great -> love the new features and linux - windows compatibility!! :)

Yay!
Does it also fix the sonar-desync-bug?

Darn, I updated my drivers and now for some reason neither SM3 map works anymore. I uninstalled all versions of spring, deleted the registry entry for SJ (that had subfolder spring) and deleted the dir and installed the new 0.74b1 release. And neither map still doesn't work. Sigh.... :( :(
They just hang at the creating sky part, drwatson is loaded on the background and I can hear the hard disk crunching away. I've tested many pass settings and disabling shader use.... nothing works anymore. It's the new drivers that suck. Old map format works fine still.

I guess I have to buy a new card / new comp. This geforce4 mx440 just ain't cutting it. It's old anyway, I can understand if it's unsupported. Its weird though that the performance was fine when the map did load. Scrolling and zooming was very fast and fps over 40 with no units in. It's the pathfinding and LOS that are the limiting terms in spring anyway.

*me ends rant.

Post a full description of your problem in the Help & Bugs forum, also post the contents of infolog.txt, your system specs, OS, etc. as well as what version of spring, there are still people downloading 0.72 or 0.73.
