Resolution bug?

Post by Nephiros »

Me and some of my friends seem to have the same problem. I'd show a screenshot but my post keeps getting denied >_> I R SPAMMER...*cough* Yea..

So there seem to be some sort of screen clipping or something - I have this useless blue bar at the top of the screen and can't see the bottom of the screen (some of unit info and ping/cpu usage of player 0). This is quite annoying and I'd like if somebody could tell me how to fix it. Thanks!

I get some similair issues, try using a default resolution in the drop down and then tweaking it from there. First of all I'd reduce the height of your resolution till it all fits as best as possible. the blue bar at the top should be the same colour as the background sky at the sides and underneath the map.

Once your post count is higher you'll be able to post url's and images otherwise just post the links but say http ://www.google.com rather than http://www.google.com or http://www.google.com

On my machine I cant run at 1600x1258 which is my monitors native resolution and I get error messages about initializing the OpenGL screen, despite it being my desktop res, and I can run morrowind at that resolution too. Instead I have to run at 1270x765 which I arrived at through careful fiddling and testing, and I still have a big stripe down the right edge of my screen and sometimes one at the top. Some resolutions change my resolution in such a way that I get the same issues as nephiros.

I don't wanna sound obsessive or double post, but this is really bugging me. Does anyone know a way to fix it? I can't even see the cost of whatever I build..

Well... What are you running on? Do you have the latest drivers? Have you tried changing some of the settings other than resolution? Are you running on a laptop?

While were here, AF, what the hell?? 1600x1258?? No monitor has that as a native resolution. TFT's dont use those sorts of figures. And if its a CTR, its not its "native" resolution, just the suggested, but again, they would never suggest such an obsurd number. 1600 x 1200 is what you need.

If you do have such a monitor and it realy is teh native res.... post me a mink oto some info on it please...

On your problem... is this a resolution you normaly use (on your desktop)? Is it a TFT monitor? Or a CTR? And like the others said, drivers, graphics card would help.

Make sure its nothing daft like your monitors set up wrong for that resolution and is just off center.

I've seen photos in that resolution; 640x503, 977x768, 1600x1258. Have to admit a factor of ~1.272 seems odd... isn't that 5:4?
